Carnival Victory - Had a Blast

We sailed out of New York in Sept 2008 on the Victory. We flew into New Jersey and took a cab to the port .. I really don't think we saved any money getting our own transportation and then the hassle of finding a trust worthy cabbie .. ( spent 40 getting there and 80 on the way back, apparently they charge you for crossing state lines) .. we made it to the ...

I was certainly looking forward to cruising as I am working in a very stressful environment during very stressful times. I selected the New England/Canada cruise with the hopes of relaxing, experiencing some laid back northern cities and escaping from work. The Carnival Victory New England Canada cruise definitely met and exceeded my expectations! After getting through the NYC traffic at ...

History: This is our second cruise, both were with Carnival. This was however, our first without kids so we were able to splurge on our room. Boy am I glad I did. We are now spoiled for any future cruises! Embarkation: arrived at the cruise terminal about 10:30 and was on board within 30 minutes. Cabin: The aft wrap around cabin could not have been nicer! We spent most of our time ...

NYC We live in Philadelphia, so we took the Greyhound bus to NYC and taxi to the port. We arrived about 11am. Checked in and had to wait a bit, but were on ship about noontime. We went to Mediterranean Restaurant and had a nice lunch and walked around admiring the ship and NYC harbor. We found our room, our first CCL balcony. After lifeboat drill, we went on deck to sail out of NYC and past Ellis ...

Disappointing Cruise

My husband and I have been on six cruises, both with Carnival and Royal Caribbean. In all of these cruises, there were pros and cons. What one person may like, another person may dislike. What one person may find acceptable, another person may find unacceptable. On each cruise ship, there is a particular set of circumstances and a particular environment that can change from one cruise to the ...

My husband and I booked this cruise as an end of the summer vacation. I will try to give a general overview of the ship , and what there is to see in Canada. We arrived at the Port in NY early 9am, Carnival started issuing sign and sail cards around 11am. We were able to sit while waiting and were able to board the ship around 11:30 We proceeded to the Lido deck for a buffet lunch. Everything ...

traveling with: mom (49), dad (56), husband (26), and myself (26) (all first time cruising) we had a lot of difficulty packing for this trip because the weather reports were so varied. we flew from ATL to NYC with some delays due to fog but not too bad. we paid for carnival's pre and post transportation which helped everything run very smoothly. learned that you shouldn't be one of the ...

As we were travelling east to catch the ship, we left Houston for New York the day before departure and spent that evening with family in Manhattan. We arrived at the terminal at about 12:30 on Saturday morning and were on the ship within an hour. However, having cruised before, we "knew the drill" and the first-timers were having some difficulty as personnel/directing signs/etc. were not very ...

The following is my review of the cruise that Ellen and I took on the Carnival Victory which departed New York on September 6, 2008. We booked the trip online. They offer last minute cruises with additional discounts for cruisers over age 55. Our rate was quoted on an outside "to be assigned" category. I have no problem with TBA as long as it is an outside. We were eventually given cabin ...

Background: My husband's parents generously booked a Carnival Victory cruise to Canada for our entire immediate family, including five adults and four grandkids, ranging in age from 7 to 11. A local travel agency in NJ called Starr Tours very conveniently bussed us up to NYC to pick up the cruise. However, I hesitate to recommend them because my mother-in-law paid for three oceanview cabins for ...
