Perfect Cruise

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

The Celebrity Solstice is a beautiful ship. When you first see her sitting at her berth in Seattle, it takes your breathe away. Then you enter the terminal to go through a long and strenuous hour plus going through passport checks, security checks, signing in and photo for your card, then finally the long walk up and down to the the ship. I definitely can see where that would be a problem for ...

My parents treated my family of 4 to a cruise (My husband and I are 45, our daughter is 15 and son is 13) on Celebrity Solstice to Alaska from Seattle on August 1-8, 2014. My parents are seasoned cruisers, most often on Celebrity and Princess. My husband, kids, and I have sailed twice on Disney Magic (and I sailed once on RC); this would be our first experience with Celebrity. I posted a detailed ...

This was our first Celebrity cruise, and we all had a wonderful time and would love to cruise with celebrity again. Our group of 10 ( 5 couples) from Australia booked 2B balcony cabins, on Deck 7, which we were very happy with. We received the Classic Beverage Package free with the 123 Go Promotion whilst booking, and whilst at lunch on boarding day the 5 men upgraded to the Premium Package. We ...

My husband and I sailed on the Solstice for an Inside Passage of Alaska. This was our first cruise with Celebrity. Embarkation was seamlessly smooth. We departed from Seattle, Washington. We received a text weeks beforehand that we should embark at 11 am. The ship did not depqrt until 5 pm. We were processed and on the ship within 20 minutes of arrival. We then had time to explore the ship and get ...

We have just come off Celebrity Solstice this morning, sadly didn't want to leave. Embarkation...was a breeze ...after reading various reports about this at Port of Seattle, we arrived 11.00 am and were on board by 11.20, greeted by a lovely mimosa and lunched in Bistro on 5. All Cabins were ready by 2.00pm which was announced over the p.a. System and luggage had arrived by 4.00pm I have been ...

This was our 12th cruise. 6th on Celebrity.  We stayed at the Downtown Hilton which was an excellent choice since we used Already There car Service.  I would highly recommend them for transportation and the Downtown Hilton for precruise The Solstice is beautiful, comparing her to Eclipse. We were really impressed. I found the decor suited Persian Gardens was great, as well as the indoor pool and ...

After cruising on a sister ship, The Equinonox, in December, I noticed some changes. The last day at sea we had some of the former ice sculptures, chocolate fountain, and more elaborate pastries. A welcome addition was the large size take away coffe cups and lids available at breakfast. A notice was received regarding norovirus on ship. However, I never heard anyone mention illness. The seas ...

I have read much about Celebrity Solstice, some good, some bad. I can only speak from our experience. This was by far the best cruise out of the 7 we have been on. Those of you who complain about this ship and its staff need to get a life. Perhaps our cruise was special because we saved 5 years for the opportunity to cruise to Alaska. We also saved to enjoy the most beautiful suite. We were in a ...

We went on the cruise to Alaska to celebrate our 20th anniversary and my 60th birthday. Embarkation was a breeze. We got there around 11:30 and it tools us about 10-15 minutes to get on the ship. We stayed in Sky Suite 1663 on the Penthouse Deck (Deck 11). We were very pleased with this cabin. It had tons of storage. It also has an extended balcony because it is on a corner of the ship. Very, ...

Alaska Cruise: August 29, 2014-September 5, 2014 My daughter and I arrived a day early in Seattle and stayed at the downtown Sheraton. We were able to check in early and set out to explore. First stop was Pike Place Market and as others have mentioned …the fresh flowers were amazing. We would have loved to spend more time there but were on a mission to hit Elliott’s oyster hour special. It was as ...
