We had never "cruised" before. I wasn't sure I was a "cruise guy." The thought of eating breakfast with 2500 other people didn't excite me. Could not have been more wrong. It was only 1000!
The food was great, weather more than acceptable, and the fellow travelers as agreeable as you wanted them to be.
We were on deck 12 (resort deck), room 2102 (starboard side). This is a very good room with a ...
The Solstice surpasses any ship I've sailed on to date in terms of cabin space, fit and finish, and guest comfort. The stateroom bathrooms were of hotel quality - and spacious - with plenty of room in the bathroom for all toiletries required by two adults. No need to keep deodorant and razors in the bedroom! And there was actually room in the standalone shower, with sliding doors, to shower in ...
I'm a hotel snob and foodie. Usually our vacations are to a warm, caribbean beach for lots of rest and relaxation.
Here's my summary (please read my comments on excursions as I will not discuss in this section).....
Fantastic....
Getting on the ship and off was a breeze.... no issues at all - exceeded my expectations.
The ship was beautiful, clean and easy to navigate.
The food was fantastic! ...
This cruise and ship was excellent in almost all aspects. Exception is our stateroom (see below). From embarkation to disembarkation and everything in between was very good. Service was nice and prompt. With 3000 passengers on this ship it NEVER felt crowded anywhere on the ship at anytime.
Service was generally very good at all the bars and restaurants. The Martini Bar can sometimes get a bit ...
My wife and I are in the 40’s range and this was our third Celebrity cruise, and our second time on the Solstice.
If you read Cruise Critic regularly, you probably know about Celebrity cutbacks. Having done the Hawaii cruise on the Solstice less than a year from this one, the cutbacks were very noticeable. The first change we noticed was the reduction of the activities staff. Before there were ...
We are a family group of five ranging from early 70's down to 17. Travelling from England we arrived in Seattle four days prior to embarkation and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Mum is in a wheelchair, and we couldn't have been better looked after at embarkation which was quick and painless. We were sipping sparkling wine on board about 30 mins after arriving at the docks. Unfortunately whilst we ...
I guess I'm just not cruising material, the ship is very nice, as is the crew( with one exception)
They are very very clean concious, almost fanatical, but that's a plus.
The shows are 50/50 some very good and some just ok.
What I didn't like was the constant selling, everywhere I turned there was merchandise, kind of like a floating wal- mart. I would rather pay extra then to be buying a drink ...
lovely ship, great service, excellent excursions: those are the positives.
We felt the food was quite poor in quality and preparation. Everything was lukewarm and overcooked, no doubt from too much time under heat lamps after being thawed. We ate in Blu for breakfast 4 times and it was by far the best experience we had. The dinners (2) were not good at all. Lobster was so overdone it was ...
This is our first time to sail with Celebrity and we found the Solstice to be a good quality boat. The food was well above average and two of the specialty restaurants, Murano, and Silk Harvest were of excellent quality.
The cleanliness of the ship was very good and the staffs attention to sanitization was omni present. We sailed in the concierge class which for a few more dollars offer a ...
This was only our second cruise, the first being ten years ago. Everybody who had cruised Alaska raved about it, so we wanted to see for ourselves. Seattle is not one of my favorite cities, but Solstice is now one of my favorite ships. The rumors are correct; you do not realize that 2799 of your best buds are on the same ship, except possibly in the buffet at lunch, or when one of the shows has ...
