We just returned from the Inside Passage Alaska cruise departing/returning to Seattle. First let me say that I would go on Celebrity again. The destination of Alaska was wonderful and it was our first time to go there. We had fabulous weather - we packed for cold and wet and didn't need any of it! We were blessed with blue sky and sunshine every day, every port! The locals told us many times how ...
We happened to luck out with weather during the whole trip. No rain and warmer than average temps for the time of year. I'm sure that impacted our overall experience, but what an experience it was! Everything on the Solstice was done well. The service was unbelievable everywhere you went on the ship. Entertainment was outstanding. And the Tracy Arm fjord was the most spectacular place I've ...
We did the 7day inner cruise flying into Seattle from London. The stateroom with a balcony proved a must particularly with our body clock out of sync as the 03.00 viewing of humpback whales in calm water was ethereal.
Although we didn't partake of any evenings entertainment due to body clock, my wife and I loved the seminars reviewing what treats we were in for at each port and for anyone ...
This ship knows how to do customer service. I'm elite on this cruise because of being diamond on Royal Caribbean. I always order flowers for my cabin---well on this cruise I did that and the Captain's Club also sent me a vase with a rose on 2 orcaids. I was also invited to go on the Heli Pad going thru Tracy Arm. 30 cruises and I've never done that.
This one Specialty restaurant called Merano ...
This was our first cruise on Celebrity and we were very happy with the Solstice. She's a beautiful ship and impeccably maintained. Both my wife and I commented a few times on how clean not only our cabin was but how the entire ship was spotless. We had a veranda on deck 7 midships, very nice cabin with plenty of storage, a very comfortable bed, and nice chairs to enjoy outside. We left the ...
This was our first cruise and first trip to Alaska and it was the most wonderful trip.
The ship is lovely and spotless. It took us 20 minutes to go through the process and get onboard. No issues or problems, it was a breeze.
We ate at the buffet, main dining room, Murano and Tuscan. All were very good with the exception of Tuscan. I think that was because we loved Murano so much.
We ...
Our family of 5 included my husband and me, ages 56, and my sons ages 21 and 22 and my daughter age 24. Some of our thoughts:
Food: Was mostly average. It took two hours to get through dinner in the main dining room. Our waiter was friendly the first day but less so as the days passed. Unlike other cruises, where they learn what you like and make suggestions or just bring the foods you ...
I will break up my review by Embarkation/Debarkation, Food, Cabin, Service, activities.
First off this was my third time to Alaska, second with Celebrity. I have gone in May, July, and August, I must say May was the best weather we have had out of the three months. Sunny in every port and pretty warm!
Embarkation/Debarkation- Was some of the smoothest I have every experienced with any ...
The Solstice is well appointed and the staff generally great. The Captain was an amazing navigator thru the Tracy Arm which turned out to be a trip highlight. There did not seem to be announcements in the rooms, so we may have missed out on some information. The Excursion staff was a weakness cancelling excursions early and not being helpful for those who arranged on their own as we did part of ...
We enjoyed this cruise but something that almost ruined it for us was the ship's shaking. Especially when using front thrusters. We thought something was going to break! Our drinks in the Sky lounge were shaking off the table. A bent prop or something and I feared for the safety of the ship. I know this is not normal because I didn't experience this anywhere else.
The Oceanview Cafe for some ...
