This is not a luxury five star ship whatever the travel agents claim, not now. It was back in 2008 when it was launched, but its been worked hard since then. Its evident when you embark through its nice white hull and enter its interior that its tired and overdue for a refit. We did venture up to the buffet on the first day and were surprised it was a serve yourself affair (a known novivirus risk) ...
Boarding delayed due to extra cleaning from Norovirus on previous cruise. Virus on my cruise 22/10/17 and now on the news as again present on current cruise. "Extra Cleaning" however, bathroom had hair and grot around the sink and the shower had not been cleaned. My luggage was not delivered, up and down all first day looking for it, worried I didn't even have a change of clothes for 8 days...Was ...
Cruising from Hawaii back to Australia via Tahiti and New Zealand and not having to fly, seemed like a wonderfully relaxing holiday... But then there was norovirus! I think many more cases than were officially reported. I was an unlucky one who had to be wheeled down to to doctor at 3.30am! I have never been so violently ill in my life. Firstly a bit about us: we are 45 (husband and wife) who loves to travel and cruise, we are not hard to please people, we like the beach, we like to drink a little, we normally cruise as a couple but sometimes we cruise as a family (with 2 kids currently 19 and 21) and sometimes with our friends. We live in Australia but we were born in Portugal and Brazil.
This was our 7th cruise.
We booked ...
We were led to believe this was an upscale cruise line. The food was so watered down it was like prison food. The speciality dining was over-rated. The coffee was the worse and if you wanted a good cup of coffee you would have to go and pay $7.00 for a tall cup and most of it is is powder not real flavoring. If you want to join any of their exercise classes, they charge you $7.00 a class. ...
We were led to believe that Celebrity Solstice was an upmarket ship and gourmet food.
Firstly the ship was booked to capacity 3000 people including 500 children as it was over school holidays. Big mistake.
The adults pool was lovely but between 10am and 12.00 noon they allow children to use the pool which I found very disappointing when it states adults only.
The entertainment was very lacking, ...
After a wonderful experience on the Solstice last year we booked - at more money per day - on the Millennium from Ensanada to Hawaii and then on to Sydney.
What a disappointment and its not the ship. The Cruise Director was on an ego trip, he failed to properly direct his staff and only wanted to tell everybody that they were having a good time
we had a small issue which , frankly he wasn't ...
