Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

I chose the cruise for the opportunity to cruise on Edge class ship, 2 weeks from Singapore to Sydney. The cruise was my best ever, the staff from Captain Mark down the order 5*, all went the extra yards to make a great cruise experience. The layout of the ship is excellent, the dining rooms are all separate compared to usual 3 terraces if dining. Food was great for 2 weeks, variety & ...

Trying Celeb solo for the second time, last chance for the X

I had a pretty poor X experience a few years ago on the Eclipse, the captain having to write to each cabin to apologise type of experience. I wanted though to travel the Suez Canal though and so it seemed a good time to give the X another try. it started badly though when their greeters in Rome said I wasn't on their list and went on from there. The room had used toothpicks and peoples pills in ...

The holiday was part of my wife's 80th birthday celebration. Having been several cruises with other companies we wanted to try out the Celebrity Cruise line. Also we had never before been through the Suez Canal. We spent a few days in Rome (a city we are familiar with) before the cruise and then a few days in Dubai (a new experience) at the end. Seen it now - wouldn't go back! The ship ...

We were very excited about this cruise and choose celebrity with its great reputation and with this ship having so many sea days we wanted to make sure we had great food and great entertainment... we were in an aqua spa suit with balcony and on first impressions although it was dated it was very clean so we were happy well this didn’t last long... our room was above the main buffet so it was noisy ...

Nice cabin, good food but a number of annoying negatives.

Classic Drinks Package-to 9$ a drink- except not highlighted you pay in full if the included drinks are from cabin mini bar or served with food in cabin, & you pay in full for $5/6 fruit & smoothies drinks from the Spa Bar. It's either a drinks package or it isn't, & it isn't. A rip off. Horrendous loud screaming music in the buffet restaurant - turn it OFF! This is not a pleasant dining ...

Back-to-Back Singapore to Rome

We booked this cruise because of the itinerary and had low expectations of the ship after reading all the reviews. We were, therefore, pleasantly surprised to find the ship was, in the main, very well-maintained - not as glitzy as some of the newer ships but nevertheless clean and comfortable. Staff (especially our cabin steward) were all extremely helpful and friendly. We did not have a drinks ...

We did this cruise because of the ports .. great ports .. but as soon as you go on board you are offered a glass of champagne but while you may be drinking your champagne you are hounded to buy packages .... drink packages .... specialty dining packages .... I did not buy packages because they were very over priced we did go to 2 dining rooms and value for money they were very overpriced .... ...

There's a lot of rust all over the ship. The public restrooms are almost always more dirty and smelly than the restroom on the average petrol station. The WTC Abu Dhabi shopping mall has better quality on their toilet paper than the ship. As always there are too many different kinds of music on at the same time around the Al Bacio, which is usually our favorite place to spend our time and ...

Service, food and ports of call were outstanding

The free use of the thallasotherapy pool and spas were great. Deck chair hogs were not. Smoking was allowed on the far corner of the pool deck and the smell was disgusting. Had to hold my breath when I needed to pass through the area. Why not have smoking on an open deck where others do not have to inhale second hand smoke? Rude able-bodied passengers occupied the two tables set aside for ...
