This was a most enjoyable cruise, the standard of service was excellent, the food very generous and high-quality, and all the staff were extremely helpful. I have now booked to go with them on the Rhone on 7th May, as I was so impressed. Although I was the only English-speaking tourist on board, this was no real problem as the other cruisers were mainly French or Spanish, and at my table, Swiss. ...
We chose it because it was a smaller, more intimate ship, and guests were mainly from France, Spain and the UK which made for a better experience. Our Cruise Director, Jose was extremely attentive and helpful, as was our English speaking ( and indeed multi lingual guide ) Sarah, both of whom made the whole cruise a delight. All the crew were friendly and polite and the waiters and waitresses were ...
Our Wonderful CroisiEurope “Meandering Seine” Cruise
For our 40th anniversary my wife & I just did a CroisiEurope 6 night cruise in northern France. Our first cruise ever. We’ve lived abroad [outside the U.S.] for 15 years. I’m a 20+ year 1K with United. We can be picky travelers. But, our cruise was absolutely lovely. We’re already looking for our Croisi cruise for next year. Some finer ...
This cruise was on our bucket list since both my wife's family and my family are from Austria. My father was from the Wachau wine growing area through which the cruise went (DURNSTEIN) and some of my wife's family came from Linz the starting and end point of the cruise. We have previously been on ocean cruises but this was our first river cruise so we were a bit nervous not knowing what to expect. ...
We cruised the Douro River on the Gil Eanes. My experience about the ship was not as spectacular as the Dour River scenery. The food was mediocre as there wasn't really a selection, portions were small and the only food available was the food served at breakfast, lunch, dinner. I must say that the ship did try to accommodate with a food alternative when we food we did not like the fixed menu. ...
I will start with one positive comment (it will be downhill after that). The cabin was roomy with good storage space and in pretty good condition.
The food was school-dinner standard. I sent back many a full plate (which I don't normally do) - nasty textures, bland etc. Apart from the very last day when the chef pulled something out of the bag – a clever move I guess – hoping the last lunch and ...
This riverboat was last refurbished in 2011 and really could do with a new refurbishment. It is looking tired. WiFi is free, but doesn't work most of the time. The cabin had no drawers, only shelves and a couple of very narrow wardrobes. The heating was virtually non-existent, OK when the sun was shining through the window, but the cabin was cold otherwise. Sofas in the public room are leather, ...
We had never been on a European river cruise before and chose this one for its brevity, just four nights. We were very happy with our choice and heartily recommend Croisieurope to travelers seeking affordable luxury plus top-flight service. The Renoir was refurbished to a very high standard in 2018 and it shows—comfortable beds, a ship-shape bathroom, lots of clever storage, individual climate ...
This was my first river cruise. It was to visit parts of southern Germany I hadn't visited before. It was also supposed to spend time in Esztergom, Hungary, and plenty of free time in Vienna. Didn't get either of those. Reason: owing to the hot dry summer there was possibly insufficient water in the Danube to complete the tour so we had to rush to get there. But after Hungary it hardly stopped ...
I will NEVER take another Croisi Europe cruise. I wouldn't even want it for free! The food is a sit down with a set menu and they take forever to serve (sometimes dinner could take 2 hours with over 45 minutes to get the first dish!). With regards, to the food: Zero options. I HATED the food. Every single meal was depressing. It was unhealthy, tasteless, and they kept serving pork over and over. ...
