The Moroccan port of Agadir feels much like many of the Western world's most popular resort towns with its palm-tree lined beaches, golf courses, beach bars and cafes. Though the availability of camel rides and excursions to the ruins of Agadir Kasbah -- a citadel that was destroyed by an earthquake in 1960 -- differentiates it. For those looking to venture beyond the beach, there's an expansive open-air food market, a botanical garden and a number of hammam spas.
