Plymouth is a quaint city on the coast of Massachusetts that played an important role in the settlement of what would eventually become the United States of America. It's an absolute must-visit for cruisers with an interest in American history. Particularly Plymouth Rock and the rest of Pilgrim Memorial State Park where it is thought the first pilgrims landed on shore.
It's an easy town to explore on foot, which means you'll be able to see historic monuments like the imposing Massasoit Statue, the Plymouth Immigrant Memorial and the Civil War Monument. For some insight into how both the natives and pilgrims lived hundreds of years ago, be sure to visit Plimoth Plantation, a living history museum a few miles outside of downtown.
The rocky beaches are a beautiful sight and the town of Plymouth itself, while tiny, boasts several excellent restaurants, boutiques and even a winery.
