We visited Jamaica and grand Cayman. Both ports were amazing! Would recommend to anyone. The ship was an older ship, which we knew entering the cruise. This was our 3rd cruise so my husband and I are familiar with the embarkation procedure and the cruising experience. We had been on 1 royal Caribbean cruise and 1 carnival. Our room was in the front of the ship on deck 6. We heard banging from closet, bathroom, cabin doors allllll night and all day. We felt music thumping all night long. We were extremely irritated as this was the first time we had ever experienced this on a cruise. Shows were lacking, activites were lacking and so was space around the pool and in the pool. Our hallway often smelled of cigarettes and marijuana which made no sense because I could pinpoint which cabin the small was coming from so it was hard to understand why they were unable to find it for themselves. Now the staff on the ship was amazing. Our room was clean, dinner server was amazing and everyone else on the ship was amazing. I would just recommend avoiding this ship! I do understand it is an older ship but the noise really did destroy our peace. Read Less

The Carnival Sensation was a pleasant surprise! Although I’ve been on more than a dozen cruises, including 3 other Carnival cruises, I wasn’t sure what to expect on this 5-night itinerary on one of the older boats in the Carnival line. I’m happy to report that it is a great deal for your dollar if you’re looking for a low frills, high fun cruise experience. What the boat lacks in décor from this millennium, it more than makes up for in enthusiastic entertainment and customer service. Despite the dated look and feel of the ship, everything on board was clean and we did not experience any of the funky odors reported in other reviews. The onboard activities were plentiful and well run. The buffet is small and the selection is not as diverse as other similar cruises we’ve been on, but the quality is good. The Guy Fieri’s burger bar was particularly tasty. The dinner selections were also good quality, and we were happy to see some of the vintage cruise fare options like escargot and baked alaska on the menu. The waitstaff shows were entertaining, but one would have been enough. We enjoyed listening to Tequila Mockingbird after dinner each night as well as “performing” karaoke with our fellow cruisers. Deon the Cruise Director was awesome. The mega-deck party on the second to last night was a blast, as was the 80’s/90’s trivia that he emceed on the last night! Also, the embarkation and debarkation was the BEST we have ever experienced. We were on the boat within 5 minutes of arriving at the port, and in a Lyft within 10 minutes of our floor being called for debarkation. This cruise definitely exceeded my expectations and I would not hesitate to cruise on Carnival again in the future. Read Less

There is not enough room to share how horrible this cruise was. First, the dock member lost my luggage as I checked in, and later found out they wrote the wrong room number on my tag and set my luggage outside the wrong door. It took me 5 hours to find it. Then. I paid $85 for internet service to do grad school homework, but the internet didn't work. The staff was very rude, the ship was old and had signs of floor damage (holes below the carpet), the food was fine day one, but they served the same thing every day. Guys burgers saved the day. The entertainment was extremely disappointing. I could only do kareoke and comedy so many nights and all other entertainment was a 2 day rotation. The ship basically looked like a ghost town. This company basically will nickel and dime you to death. I even had to pay $50 for soda for the week! The excursion times were very short and the communication of the ship was very poor. The only enjoyable moment I had on the ship was playing blackjack at the casino. We also really liked our housekeeper. He was excellent! There was nothing to do for children, and the 3 pools advertised was one short and 2 mini circle children's pools. STEER CLEAR OF THIS SHIP! PAY THE EXTRA FEW BUCKS - I guarantee you will be happy you did. Read Less
