First of all, it seemed like a totally different ship to me than the Mariner we sailed a year ago from Auckland to LA. The staff were not friendly and indifferent. The officers would pass in the hallways and not even make eye contact, let alone speak. Staff did their jobs in a very mechanical fashion. Hardly a smile or a greeting. She made a concerted effort at learning our names on the first day of the cruise, she used them every day there after. I really enjoyed the Mariner Of The Seas. Embarkation was organized and went smoothly, and they had coffee and cookies on a table -- that was a nice touch. Line was long but went fast. Got on board and what a big ship. We went to our room to drop our stuff off, and I couldn't believe the room.
