We've cruised on Princess, Celebrity, Costa, Oceania, and Holland America, among others. Princess has always been our favorite, but they've really upped their game from great to outstanding - this cruise has Princess squarely at the top of our list. We moved to Platinum status after this cruise, and it was a real delight that this one is the one that got us there. The food was EXCELLENT. ...
My experience on Odyssey was generally positive, with a few hiccups. Here are some pros and cons:
Pros:
-The ship is beautiful, easily navigable, and well-equipped
-The staff were all exceptionally friendly
-My stateroom was spotlessly clean and had plenty of storage
-Onboard activities were fun and diverse, but you need to book ahead of time!
-The destinations on this ...
This was my first experience on a cruise.
Unfortunately, we booked 3 excursions ahead of time that were offered on the website and all 3 were cancelled. Last minute we booked a excursion to the blue lagoon and I felt like I was robbed because it was expensive, then we should have depart at 10:30 from the deck, we arrived at almost noon and have to come back at 3:15pm. That was a wast of money ...
Not a fan of inside cabins, wanted to try one with a window that overlooks the Promenade. Hubby is claustrophobic so invited sister to experience this cruise with me. The cabin did have limited space but with the window it made the cabin seem somewhat larger. Still do not think it would work for my husband though as he is spoiled by balcony cabins. We kept the window curtains opened during the ...
About Us: We are 60 and recently retired. This was our 28th cruise but only our 2nd on Holland America. We sailed with them to Alaska in 2008 and had a marvelous time.
Pros: The ship was immaculate. Embarkation and debarkation were effortless. Cabin was ready at 12:30. Balcony cabin was clean, well designed and the shower was fantastic. Loved the chairs on the balcony. Anytime dining ...
Overall, my husband and I had a great trip. The excursions were fantastic, the room was great and the staff are very personable. However, being a young married couple without children, there is very little entertainment catered to our generation.
Most of the entertainment was for the elderly or for young children. Unless you wait later in the night then there are a couple of shows or parties, ...
I'd like to preface this review by mentioning that this was our first cruise.
We had some expectations and some unknowns, and we're anxious about how it would all play out, but we were committed to enjoying this once in a lifetime vacation.
I've read some of the negative comments here and I just have to shake my head. There are some, and you will spot them on the boat fairly quickly, who ...
This was my first cruise ever. I'm usually a plan my own itinerary, airbnb type of traveller. My husband and I went with 2 other couples, both of which were experienced cruisers.
The ship was very clean and well maintained. We had a balcony stateroom which was well laid out, spotlessly clean and had plenty of storage. My only complaint about the stateroom was the water in the shower could ...
The ship is nice, we have done all the Edge class and liked this one a lot. Service was excellent, no complaints. We were in Aqua and liked it, as bed is by balcony. Food choices in Blu were not always to our liking so we opted at times for Normandy. Fine cut was incredibly good, my filet cut like butter. Oceanview Cafe was a typical buffet. We just wish the food wasn't cold. The desserts in the ...
The only good experience was our room housekeeper and our bed. The premium balcony that we bid up for had no footstools, so they brought us little table things. An officer was out smoking in an area that blew his smoke right into our balcony making us go inside. The crew elsewhere in santorini seemed unhappy. we ordered at salty dog-the girl wrote down wrong number, so as we waited for our ...
