Captain missed the memo

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Disney Wonder

7 day cruise left us feeling left out and shorted for our money. Captain said winds were too high to port in Jamaica.... never tried again. 4 other cruises were able to port on the same day. So we literally were at sea for no reason missing out on what was promised. If he was able to dock in San Juan (terrible storm) he could have dock in Jamaica. Disappointed with not docking... ...

Our family and friends choose this cruise out of our nearby port of Galveston. We Grandparents are experienced cruisers (52x). This is NOT a luxury cruise, the young kids were not thrilled with the care centers, entertainment ok for kids but very poor for adults, and food was extraordinarily bland and unavailable. Very limited food available after a show for hungry kids waiting for late dining ( ...

Beautiful Ship, Fantastic Crew

Activities: I had such high hopes for the Kids club- I particularly liked that Disney allowed all children from 3-12 to be in the same club so my daughters could be together. Unfortunately the clubs were so incredibly large that it was overwhelming for my four year old. She became separated from her older sister and there was not enough staff to help her to find an activity that she could ...

This was my 11th cruise and my first time with Disney. I thought the ship was smooth, I hardly felt it moving. I did not feel as if we were over crowded with children and I enjoyed the characters and shows. I loved the fact that there was no a casino on the ship and I did not have to smell the awful smoke. I loved the decor and it seemed the staff was not over worked or cranky. Since my family ...

We have two daughters ages 9 and 11 who are in 4th and 6th grade. This trip was the perfect way to spend the last half of their winter break. We live in The Woodlands just north of Houston, so the Port of Galveston is an easy car ride for us. We cruised with another family with similarly aged daughters who are great friends/neighbors. All of us are Disney veterans and we had booked our cruise ...

We normally cruise on Celebrity, but chose this cruise to be with friends who have kids under the age of 10. As a childless couple that just turned the 50-year milestone, we were were worried that hundreds of screaming kids would make us want to jump overboard. We were pleasantly surprised. Disney does such a good job of keeping the kids occupied that we barely noticed them. There was a ...

This was our second Wonder Christmas cruise and we loved it again. Not having children of our own, we love watching all of the children dress in costumes and parade around meeting and greeting their favorite Disney characters all over the ship. We traveled with parents, grandparents and two small boys who were quite a hit on their own. Disney's food, public and private areas, employees and ...

Have to be a real fan to truly enjoy the cruise

We are a couple in our early 30s, no children, we don't drink, love Disneyland and Disneyworld but we are not hard core fans that watch every single Disney movie. We chose Disney as our first cruise mainly for the good review and service. Embarkation was great, friendly staff once you are inside the terminal, the porters outside were very rude. They don't work for Disney though. We waited about ...

What was done in dry dock????

I love Disney, and cruising with Disney, but there was something that was just not right on this sailing. We were excited to sail on the re-imagined Disney Wonder after her dry dock. Unfortunately, she looked a little worse for wear than a year ago (which was before the dry dock). I am not sure why the dry dock took so long as there were still quite a few areas in need of repair. Yes, they made ...

Disney Delivers

This is our first Disney cruise and at first I was a little hesitant that it was worth the money. We traveled with a 4-year-old and my wife's mother. We had inside stateroom 7001. The only drawback I can say from the trip was our boarding was delayed due to inclement weather (fog) that had the port channel closed and would not allow vessels to leave or arrive. Disney gave a $25.00 per person ...
