Do not sail on NCL!!!

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Pride of America

I have been on 14 cruises (4 Disney, 4 NCL, 3 Carnival, 2 Tradewinds catamarans, and 1 Costa). I am most disappointed with NCL. The service has gotten worse. I do like the NCL’s ports I’ve sailed (Bermuda, Mexican Pacific, Western Caribbean and Hawaii) but I would have had a better experience visiting those ports with another cruise line, or even sticking to resorts and getting a rental car. As ...

I chose this cruise because I wanted to see all of Hawaii- never been and i am in my sixties. Chose this for the fact you see so much of the Islands. I have previously only done a Mississippi River Cruise (American) and Mediterranian (Celebrity), both of which I thought were awesome- with minor quibbles. The Good stuff- The "Hawaiian Ambassador"- Anela St Thomas - is GREAT. Always available ...

We chose this cruise to see the variety of beauty available in the different Hawaiian Islands. The islands are beautiful and cruising is a great way to get to each one saving time and hassle by not dealing with airports so our main objective was accomplished. I have sailed on Norwegian Cruises before so I had some expectations of what I would be getting for my money. However, some advice I ...

Pride of America is an anomaly in the NCL fleet - it does not vary from its four-island Hawaii itinerary - no sea days - never leaving American waters - no casino (as per law). I was relieved to discover that its design was not all colonial / monument style - that is limited to the main lobby and a few restaurants. The other public areas are themed around the rest of America: Napa CA (wine bar), ...

Disappointing

Of all the many cruises we’ve enjoyed on ships large and small, this was by far the worst. Although the ship itself is elegant, good management was sorely lacking. We were told that the ship is always short-staffed because their people can (and do) leave without fulfilling their contracts. Well, I think incentives and bonuses might help. Keep your people happy so your customers will be treated ...

I'm an experienced cruiser who has cruised on small and large ships all over the world for the past 15 years. I chose this inter island cruise in Hawaii based on the location for my 40th birthday without the hassle "sea days" taking another cruise line across the Pacific Ocean from either California or Canada to visit Hawaii and all the islands. The perk of the ship is that is its very clean and ...

Where to begin. Cold and mediocre food on the buffet. Only about TWO total entertainment activities worth your time. Because of weather, 2 out of our 3 excursions were canceled and couldn't be rescheduled because they had no back up plan. Most of the staff was rude and treated us like an after thought and not like a guest at all. Guest services argued with us that we hadn't paid for a drink ...

Cruise Period Feb 3 - Feb 10, 2024 Embarked on Sat Afternoon Feb 3. At 5pm the Ship's Cruise Director (AKA A LO HA ANNE) announced the Ship would remain in Honolulu overnight because of a part needed for repair. In realty the seas were ugly with 15' - 20' seas. The decision to stay in port was correct. But, WHY hide behind the Maintenance excuse? Then decision was made to ...

We were looking forward to seeing the Hawaii islands and thought a cruise would be a good way to do this; however, we were quite disappointed in the cruise for many reasons. Having been on NCL for previous cruises, we were looking forward to a great experience; unfortunately this cruise was well below the standards we had seen on previous cruises. The ship is 19 years old, so the pool area is ...

We were very disappointed in serveral areas while on the ship. 1. The entertainment in the Hollywood theartre, with the exception of the magician and the Hawaiian opening, was not good. The comedian was very disappointing and vulgar. 2. The chairs in the Hollywood theatre were worn out and very uncomfortable. You slid off them as you were watching the performance. 3. Cost of ...
