Worst Cruise I have ever been on!

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

Six of us sailed on this cruise from Hawaii to Sydney and from embarkation to disembarkation the whole trip was appalling. The people at the check in didn't seem to know what they were doing and gave us all the wrong cruise passes. Once on the ship we seem to have many a communication problem with the staff who on most occassions barely spoke english. Whilst they seem friendly enough, the fact the ...

Right from the start you get a feeling how things are going to turn out. Call it quirky, I don't know, but it happens. We are on Diamond level & get the odd perk or two, but just getting on the ship was a little more difficult than usual. We also had a suite which put us virtually straight through check in, but some how they shafted us to the wrong line & yes we got caught up. A few questions & a ...

Traveling to Honolulu on the day of departure from Sydney on Ha452 Hawaiian Airlines was good and comfortable and when we arrived in Honolulu picked up our bags and made our way to the Hawaiian Taxi Service which took us to the Pier2 in Oahu we were their in plenty of time. We came into the Terminal in Oahu we are gold class so we got on board with no trouble at all after that things started to ...

I'm sure the ship may have been a Rhapsody at some point but it needs to be retired. Hawaii and Canada were lovely and was the only saving grace. I'm not sure why RCL has invested in trying to put a band-aid on this boat instead of just replacing it with one of the newer vessels. The refurbish was a waste of good money. You can see that they tried, but unfortunately they failed miserably. The ...

Dissatisfied with Meals and Entertainment

We have been loyal RCL cruisers for many years. We tried other cruise lines and always come back to RCL for the WOW factor. We booked this cruise for the destination and that is just what we got. A boat ride with poor meal selection, horrible entertainment, and employees who are going through the motions on an entry level ship to "pay their dues" so they can upgrade to a better ship contract in ...

Outstanding experience

My last few cruises on RCI have been less than satisfactory, but the Rhapsody was outstanding. I believe a ship experience reflects the Captain and in our case Captain Rob was one of the best I've sailed with. His dry humor made his noon reports a high point (ocean depth is 20,000 feet...and 3 inches). He was around the ship often, participated in things such as the cake making (although he built ...

Sailed the Rapsody to Alaska two years ago. The experience other than the entertainment was a total delight. This sailing was an utter disappointment. I had bragged the Rapsody up to our companions to the extent that |I was embarrassed. They must think I have little taste at all. This is our fifth time sailing RCI. There will never be another. They have no pride in their ship. The same dirty ...

From the moment we boarded we knew this would be an experience like no other, and talking to other passengers everyone felt exactly the same. We had a junior suite with none of the extras as discussed on the website - eventually asking for dressing gowns. Cruise information on excursions was non existent and we were told to look it up on the internet if we wanted basic information (eg. how far to ...

In our late 40's (age wise) we found very little to do on this cruise ship after 11pm at night. We really only had one area to go to after that time. For a few nights the DJ (Yuki) played the duff duff music as well and we noticed that most people left!! Yet she didn't change her selections. Also on theme nights when she invited you to request songs, she rarely had some of the more popular songs ...

I agree with the last person who wrote a review. This ship of under staffed and they are under a lot of pressure from the powers above. When ever there is a problem no one is interested, they always have to speak to their boss, who then had to speak to their boss who then had to speak to their boss and that went on forever. Food a lot of it but not quality, same thing every meal, after the third ...
