Outstanding Trip to Glacier Bay N.P.

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Wilderness Discoverer

TLDR: Based on our experience on this UnCruise we put a down payment on a future cruise. We had an absolutely amazing trip aboard the Wilderness Discoverer on our Glacier Bay National Park Adventure. One morning, while eating breakfast, "Orcas off the port bow" blared over the intercom. The cafeteria cleared out, the captain slowed down, and just about everyone on board spent the next 15 ...

Not fans of cruising with 2000 of our "favorite people". Did not want roller coasters, dance revues, etc. So we chose UnCruise. Got into small areas: THREE days in Glacier Bay with Ranger Matt, who was passionate, informative, and very personable. Inforgettable. All the crew were friendly, informative, considerate, helpful, approachable and knowledgeable. No faults. Kayaking 101!! ...

`We sailed Juneau-Juneau on the Glacier Country itinerary and were very impressed with the ship, the crew and the other passengers. We got an upgrade for reasons we don't know (maybe because we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary) and the Commodore Suite was great. The food was beyond good and the staff was totally responsive to special eating requests (vegan, gluten-free, etc.) There ...

This was the trip of a lifetime for my husband and me! The knowledgeable and delightful guides, the amazing food, the diversity of the folks on board, the warm Captain and lovely crew, the comfort of our tiny cabin, the kayaking, bushwhacking, skiff riding, hiking, wildlife up close, following whales up close, eagles too many to count, just everything was perfect! Worth every penny! We enjoyed ...

We chose this cruise hoping to find a method of travel and cruise line that would work okay for person of limited mobility. Sadly, we felt that this trip was overpriced, and that we were misled by sales people. The Spirit is in need of refurbishing. The salesperson I spoke with said it had been done. The cabin was clean enough, but I have traveled on much older vessels that were more ...

Our cabin ruined what was a lovely experience

My wife and I wanted a small ship cruise to see Alaska's glaciers before they disappear. We chose UnCruise. a Seattle company of good reputation to take us into Glacier Bay. Our small boat got close to places big ships could only view from a distance. Zodiacs took us a quarter mile from the marine glacier’s crumbling face and to remote shorelines. Booking for us, unfamiliar with cruising, was ...

I chose this cruise because a friend had wonderful experiences with this line and I loved the itenerary. However, I did not ask all the right questions and those I asked of the company were not answered with completeness or accurate knowledge of the ship. My husband is disabled and I notified the staff that we would be arriving with walker and wheelchair... no problem, they said. WRONG! The ...

San Juan Islands w/American cruise lines

We always wanted to see the San Junan Islands of Washing state and thought this would be an effortless way to do it. Embarkation was easy. The itinerary was very good and we really enjoyed all the historical little towns and scenery. Our room was quite large and the king size bed was really nice and comfortable. We did not do a veranda, as they were very small and had a metal door, not a big ...

I prefer small ship cruises, and this line seemed to meet all my expectations. Friends had traveled on it and recommended it highly. The only problem seemed to be choosing from a lot of exciting and inviting destinations. My son and I chose the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands cruise and were not disappointed.. Everything was outstanding, from the pre-cruise package which gave us a night ...
