About the Reviewer: I’m a middle-aged American male who traveled solo on this, my 60th voyage. Over half of my sailings have been with NCL, however, I have sailed on other cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, MSC and Carnival. This cruise was my first cruise as a Diamond Latitudes member with NCL. My reviews are written in chronological order of events as they took place on the ship. ...

Transatlantic Crossing on the Norwegian Star

This November/December, my partner and I (age 40 & 32), along with my parents (age older) were fortunate enough to spend two weeks on board the beautiful Norwegian Star as she transversed the Atlantic on her repositioning voyage from Lisbon to Rio De Janeiro – our first transatlantic crossing. While we had our reservations embarking upon a cruise with so many sea days, we had a wonderful time and ...

Amazing cruise from Lisbon to Rio!

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Azamara Pursuit

This our second time on Azamara and it definitely won't be our last. I have never been on a cruise where the staff and crew, from the Captain down to the young man cleaning the stairs, are so friendly. Having the Hotel Manager, the Cruise Director and assistant and others waving goodbye as we were disembarking was wonderful. It was as if we were valued friends who they couldn't bear to part ...

Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro Transatlantic Adventure

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Azamara Pursuit

My wife and I have been cruising for several year - often 3 cruises per year - but had not yet tried an upscale cruise like Azamara. The first thing that we noticed, not surprisingly, was that the Pursuit was not quite as large as the other cruise ships we had taken previously. Next we noticed that the crew seemed to be more friendly than on other, larger ships. We subsequently determined ...

Another brilliant cruise with Azamara

This was our 9th cruise with Azamara, but our first ever transatlantic and our first cruise on the Pursuit. We chose it because we love sea days, but it also had 6 ports of call, so a good combination. We had a couple of nights in Lisbon before the cruise and were really pleased that we had done so, there’s so much to see and do. We booked the Holiday Inn Express Avenida de Liberdade mainly ...

Canadians Crossing the Equator on the Oceania’s Marina

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Marina

So far we have always cruised on Oceania’s Riviera but decided to “pay a visit” to her older sister, the M/S Marina. The Transatlantic Passage from Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro began on November 28th and ended on December 14th. We flew into Lisbon a day early and stayed over at a hotel close to the port. On the embarkation day the departure from the cruise terminal was very disorganized and ...

Love this itinerary. 6th time to Rio, Diverse ports, lots of sea days, good friends. Little changes- many fewer European staff, new CD and GM. Fantastic value. Took ship's tours as I am travelling solo, private tours see more, more leasurely pace. I felt rushed as there was a need to cram many sites in limited time. Have been to Rio before- never attempted to do Sugerloaf and Christ the ...

FIRST OCEANIA CRUISE - WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Marina

We have travelled on several other cruise lines which were less expensive on numerous occasions but never on Oceania. However, chose this cruise because of the itinerary and some good offers. Our cabin was very nice but similar to those we have had on HAL, Princess and even Carnival. Bedding was lovely. However, the service was excellent everywhere. Food was, on the whole, excellent, with plenty ...

First time on Oceania

We prefer slightly smaller ships but in the same or better class. This was our first exposure to Oceania and we were comparing this experience to Seabourn. The ship was very nice and the Penthouse Suite was just a bit larger than the standard suite on Seabourn. Food was very good overall and the 4 specialty restaurants were a pleasant surprise--we tried all of them and a couple of them more ...

Amazing cruise with a few miscellaneous comments

Here is another 5 star review for Oceania and the Marina. My wife and I are in our mid 60’s have cruised before, but this was our first time on Oceania. We have always wanted to cruise with Oceania, especially on the Marina or Riviera, but never found the right itinerary at the right time. Our travel agency had a pre cruise program in Lisbon and a post cruise program in Rio de Janeiro. But ...
