Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

It is 9 years since we were last on a RC cruise and fair to say there was a very noticeable difference in the overall quality of the offering - and unfortunately not all was for the better. The ship itself is very impressive but a number of areas were simply too small to cope with the demands of the 3,700 passengers - most notably the Schooner bar and the coffee shop on the Royal Promenade where ...

Royal Caribbean International, Adventure of the Seas, cruise October 12-26 2014 All monies paid to Royal Caribbean, we were given notice of when to check in for boarding at Southampton, as we were on deck 7, our time was for 13:30. We were asked not to turn up before this time so as not to overcrowd the departures lounge. 9th October I received an email requesting me not to turn up until 15:15, ...

First time cruise, my wife and I decided to do it this year so booked Adventure Of The Seas for the 14 nights going to Spain, Madeira, Canary islands and Portugal, first impressions of the ship were good, staff were polite and the food was tasty and plenty off it, pool deck was nice, hot tubs were hot, gym was great, even the drink prices were reasonable no more than you would expect to pay in a ...

Standards have fallen on RCI

It was 5 years since we went on RCI. We felt there had been a lot of cost cutting particularily in the food. The cabin, ship and public areas were spotless and the staff were always helpful. The design of the ship means there is no outside area to eat which meant that most passengers would go into The WIndgammer. It was hard to find a seat, very stuffy and had a very poor selection of food. The ...

Standards are seriously slipping

We have just returned home from our 10th cruise with Royal Caribbean and sadly have to say standards are seriously slipping. Silly little things like, no slices of lemon out to have with your cup of tea, no promotional carrier bags left in your stateroom, no pen in the room either and no nibbles given out at Crown and Anchor evening. On a slightly more serious note the ship has supposedly just ...

Not our favourite ship.

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

We have just arrived back from our trip on the Adventure of the seas. Not the best ship we have been on for several reasons which could so easily be put right. The entertainment, with the exception of a couple of acts, on the whole were very very poor and not family friendly at all. We gave up bothering to go to the theatre in the end. Some of the lounge singing acts were cringe worthy. The ...

We, a family of 3 are cruising Spain and Portugal on Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas. As we have done some research online, we are aware that RCL is at least a tier to a tier and a half lower than Celebrity. At best RCL is a 3-½ stars whereas Celebrity would rate a 5. That’s OK as the dates and the destinations suite us well. We are in a junior suite with a verandah in the aft on deck 6. ...

Not the best

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

I went on my first RCI cruise and I thought that I would be happy and satisfied with my experience. I wasn't, these were because of a few reasons. 1. My Time Dining: the concept does not work on this ship as you have to reserve a table for every night and not just turn up when you would like. If you are late you are shouted at by rude staff and forced to wait. 2. The in-ability to get a sun bed. ...

Very Dissapointed

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

My first cruise on RCI and had high expectations for an alleged 4 star cruiseline. Unfortunately the ship presentation, service and food was by a long way the worst out of the five ships I have sailed on. Boarding / Disembarkation This was probably one of the best things about the cruise. The Boarding process was quick and seamless. On disembarking we elected for self assisted and took our own ...

I was travelling alone and chose the cruise because of the ports visited. The embarkation was quick and easy, with lunch in the Windjammer self-service café. I went down to meet people in the Dog and Duck pub but only talked to a few of the group. Next morning was the Meet and Mingle arranged by the roll call. This is did not work for a number of reasons. First the time was changed to 9.30 instead ...
