An empty ship all to yourself!

Review for Anthem of the Seas to Baltic Sea

We chose this cruise as all passengers needed to be from the UK, fully vaccinated and have passed a PCR test within 3 days of travel. This gave confidence that it would actually be safer to go cruising than stroll around the local shopping centre (where masks appear to have been abandoned). Another factor for this cruise was that it wouldn't be full. In fact, there were less than 1,000 ...

If you’re lucky enough or can afford to, you have to experience the luxury and attention that yacht club is onboard MSC Virtuosa, the service and attention from all staff inside the yacht club is beyond amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Reynaldo the pool attendant is amazing, he’s so attentive and all you have to do is move and he’s beside you helping to adjust the lounger, offering drinks, ...

Lovely ship, teething problems on the return

Review for Marella Explorer to Baltic Sea

I'll say from the start, we did lower our expectations for this cruise. Friend's have sailed with Marella many times and explained this is a very different product from MSC. We stayed in a mini suite with a large balcony. This had a good size shower, easy to move around the compact space. Only comment is it can be tight to get into the actual shower. The bed was comfortable and liked that it ...

This was the inaugural cruise for fare paying passengers and was for three days visiting Dover and Portland and due to COVID when not sitting eating or drinking all passengers and staff had to wear a mask when moving about the Ship and had to undertake a daily temperature check. Any way we were given a boarding time of 12 o'clock on the day of departure and when we arrived were shocked to ...

We love to cruise but we’re limited where we can cruise to and from due to Covid so chose the MSC virtuoso cruise in the uk mainland. Have done around 10 cruises with various lines, RC, Celebrity, P&O, Carnival, Princess, 1st time with MSC. We’re actually still cruising on it as I write - staff are very attentive and friendly, no waiting for food or drink orders even though there is only table ...

Spectacular ship and fantastic experience

Virtuosa is an amazing ship. It's not just the fun gimmicks like the robot bartender or the design your own chocolate bar, but she's designed with great viewing spaces to sit and watch the sea. The galleria is a beautiful inside shopping precinct with the shops and restaurants along it and the dome which plays 3 minute shows was absolutely incredible - people started spontaneously applauding after ...

A truly magnificent ship, but it still has a few problems and what will it be like with 6,000+ passengers onboard??

We usually cruise 4 or 5 times a year, so we were desparate to get cruising again, then in May 2021 we saw on TV the new ship MSC Virtuosa arriving in Southampton. We googled the ship and liked what we saw, so we decided to give it a try, as we have never been with MSC before. We normally reserve a butler suite, but the Virtuosa only offers butlers in their Yacht Club suites, which are quite ...

Short break

I have to say what great value this cruise was 4 nights for under £400 including drinks and tips with no single supplement. There were under 900 passengers on a ship that holds over 6000 so plenty of space. I arrived at the port about 10.40 and check in was a doddle i was on board before 11.30 The food in the restaurant was really good i eat there every time apart for one time in the ...

So our cruise was the third short cruise which constitutes the maiden voyage of the Virtuosa. Embarkation was smooth, we waited about 20mins for the result of our covid test but then it was straight on board. The ship is stunning - brand new, very sparkly, from the crystal steps to the mirrored lifts via the glass wine cellar, all was shiny and beautiful. The staff were all friendly and ...

MSC.... Not for me

In none Covid times, we have only sailed on one Royal Caribbean cruise and two Celebrity Cruises. not keen on the first but loved Celebrity. I booked this cruise knowing that it would only be 1000 passengers. I wanted to try out MSC and the 4 night cruise was ideal. A lot of the reviews on Twitter, in the press and on Cruise Critic are from people who have stayed in the Yacht Club ' Ship ...
