We choose Ventura for the ports of call. Alas, three were cancelled but the ports we did call at were in the main okay during our 35 night sailing. Never again on Ventura, the food was of poor quality, the service, hit and miss, the entertainment average, I don't think anyone would watch the acts if they appeared at venues other than on a cruise. I travelled on P&O for first time and selected the ship Ventura.
This was my first mistake, the ship has no wow factor like I've experienced with other brands.
My biggest mistake was choosing P&O as their staff in Bars and Restaurants simply don't seem to care.
1) ordered wine with dinner, it turned up whilst I was eating my desert.

I’m onboard now and the service has declined dramatically! Lots of new staff with attitudes and 3 star service. Rooms are outdated and in desperate need of a renovation. Stains on carpets and drapes . Bathroom still has a musty curtain and room temperature can not be fixed as they were here twice .

Beware of the spa! 2 treatments booked and paid for before joining the ship. During one treatment, the assistant said one aspect had been booked but I could have all 3 if I wished. Ok, chose this short break as an early Christmas do for my wife and I, the ship needs either a total revamp or scrapping, the archaic plumbing system is not fit for purpose, blocked overflowing toilets in the cabin happened three times in four days, the last day the bathroom was unusable for 8 hours due to failure of the vacuum system for the toilets.

Chose this cruise as for 12 nights there were 8 ports of call so not many sea days. Sadly a massive storm started on the day of embarkation and messed up the whole trip. We love NCL, Sapphire level 20+ cruises, however, this cruise was pretty bad.

Many problems could have been prevented with better management. With 10+ busses returning from excursions at lunchtime the main dining room was closed . This created a chaotic situation at the Garden Cafe and the Irish Pub with no seating available.
