We chose this ship because it introduces a new design concept. It’s like a boutique ship that feels like a floating spa with a modern minimalistic approach different entertainment venues and outdoor seating areas and the spa area is beautiful. We had karaoke every night, the shows are top notch, very good food variety and quality, and best of all you’re not limited to dining at specific times. ...
This cruise was miserable, disappointing, stressful & filled with frustrations.
Here is why:
1) Design flaws of the ship caused chaos due to overcrowding at Surfside Cafe and pubic areas. Surfside Café was too small (occupied one side of the deck vs 2 sides of deck) and could not accommodate a capacity of 3K passengers. People were pushing and filled with aggravation due to lack of seating. ...
Had great cruise in 2018 with Norwegian on the epic. Was hoping for same on the Star.
The Star is smaller and was very clean.
Cabin staff were excellent.
Staff constantly yelling greetings at you everywhere you go. Had to ask a few to stop yelling at me. It’s sad because in their attempt to make you feel Welcome it becomes annoying and we just started to ignore them as the trip ...
We chose this cruise for the ports which were advertised to be in Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal. Portugal was removed from the itinerary before we sailed with no reason as to why. Le harve was also removed due to strike action at the port and whilst this is not the fault of NCL we did not get our port fees returned. Then the port for Bordeaux was cut short as there was no crane at the ...
First of all the staff were really great and the ship was always maintained in an immaculate condition. However, overall on this cruise what was supposed to be a cruise of a lifetime did not met our expectations in any way shape or form.
The air conditioning in our room worked intermittently and this was reported to the guest services several times. It kept us awake most evenings in very ...
We always cruise with NCL
They cater to my celiac diet, but my choices are less then before. You would think there would be more to choice from, with so many people with dietary needs on the rise.
Speak with a steward to let you know what is safe to eat. Order a GF pizza and go back to get it or they brought it to my table.
Brazilian restaurant, its so much fun.
The buffets have ...
We were very disappointed with our cruise with the Norweigan Star. It was a 10 day crusie. We found a bed bug on our bed the second night. The staff claimed it is not a bed bug. The only person that apologized to us was Kristine the room attendant. Everyone else dismissed the issue and acted like nothing happened. We had to push them to wash our clothes for us free (after asking 4 times). Also ...
We have cruised with this cruise line several times.
We had always had a good experience but since our last cruise I am a vegetarian and can only comment on the lack of vegetarian options are atrocious
Lack lustre curry stir fried vegetables fried rice , or salad were the only option for meals and so the only meal worth looking forward to was breakfast
There are no vegan options ...
The itinerary was great. Most serving, entertainment staff were great people that made this old cruise ship gaining a reputation for good friendly service.
The highlight is a trios, Soul Brothers singing many 60, 70 and a few recents hit without any preparations.
Food although better than Pride of America is just pass the acceptable standard. Oriental food with the exception of 2 dishes ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary, and it did not disappoint. We knew the ship was tired and would be going into dry dock for retrofit. But I loved the size and layout of the Spirit. The staff and crew overall was amazing. The ship was clean and well kept. The entertainment was very good to boring, but overall good. The Soul Sound Brothers were great and the Elements Show as I have seen on ...
