We choose this cruise as a family vacation that would take us half way around the world, Southampton to Singapore, in 37 days. We had some good times and some not so good times, and met many new friends, but I can not recommend the Sapphire. The service is good, but the food is not good. You can always find something to eat, but as a rule, the overcooked meats buried in tasteless brown sauce, ...
Excellent choice of ports. Princess has good value and consistent and organized product. Food is excellent but occasionally disappoints. Good coffee still seems to be a weakness although café bar at extra charge is a nice touch. Value added features are pushed and not good value for money especially excursions. You have to be careful as you can quickly find the bill for your holiday much higher ...
Overall a great cruise with nothing negative to comment on. Great itinerary, excellent ships staff, good food good entertainment, what more could one want. Sailing down the Solent in daylight was a great experience, a good selection of continental ports, the weather could have been better but did not impinge on our enjoyment.visiting the many classical sights through the Mediterranean including ...
Main reason was to go along the Suez Canal and then see Petra. We saw and liked the Suez, but Petra had to be cancelled due to the flood there the day before our arrival.
Practically nearly all of the other ports we had visited before, and this ship and it's itinerary (apart from the Sea or Sun Princess World Cruise) go through the Suez and gave the chance of going to Petra.
Had we seen ...
The repositioning cruise was chosen because it seemed to be well priced and was a nice way of returning to Australia. The ports were an annoying interlude between the sea days.
No bridge Director on board yet lots of sea days. Sorry Princess now sailing on Cunard.
On the previous leg the Cruise Director told the bridge Director they could take all the equipment if they wanted as they were ...
I wanted to get from UK to Australia on an alternative to flying. This ships repositioning met the need and the dates suited.
Ive had not sailed with Princess Line before so it was a new experience and also had not done longer than 14 days so was a bit nervous on its length before sailing.
The ship was large by my past standards, 3000 passengers and fully booked so was operating to maximum ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to sail the Suez Canal. We boarded the Emerald Princess in Southampton and we had a smooth check in. We had our Indian Visas and so this did not hold us up at all. The ships crew were fantastic, greeting us with a smile and hello wherever we were. We have sailed on this ship before so we knew our way around. After unpacking, lunch and the customary lifeboat ...
Good way to get home after touring in England,
Good length of cruise.
Really enjoyed the cruise in general, the only negative was the Indian visa requirement, don't know why Princes continue to include India, when it is such a pain to acquire visa and it costs so much for a single day.
On the up side:
1/ The inclusion of the Share Restaurant was a real bonus, initially thought the $39 ...
I have come to really like long cruises. With a one- or two-week cruise you're just getting to know the ship when it's over; with a 30-day cruise you have time to enjoy it more. For this cruise, when people asked, "Where did you go?" we said, "Everywhere!" Started in Southampton, made our way down the coast, through the Mediterranean, through the Suez Canal, around the Middle East, around India ...
This cruise departed Southampton on my birthday, and arrived in Melbourne Australia on my wife's birthday. Good signs (or a good excuse!). The Emerald Princess layout was very familiar, having sailed on her sister ships. We had not had a holiday for almost 3 years due to business commitments, so we were really looking forward to the long break, and many days at sea.
The worst aspect of this ...
