There were four or five occasions where our toilet wouldn't flush. Tried calling Passenger Services but they never picked up so I called the room steward. Problem was fixed in a reasonable amount of time but it's unfortunate that it happened at all. Also there were a couple of times the hallway near our cabin and the area outside Explorers Lounge had a strong sewer smell. Our head waiter ...

After several couples mentioned how much they loved this cruise, we decided, along with 2 other couples, to take it and were absolutely delighted we did! It turned out to be above and beyond our expectations in every respect. Embarkation was a breeze as was disembarkation. The service was extraordinary and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate your every need. Loved the ship, cabin, ...

Arrived day prior to sailing and stayed at the Best Western, San Pedro. Great accommodations. Free shuttle to port next morning. Arrived at 11:00am and after clearing boarding formalities we were in the buffet enjoying lunch by 11:45am. Luggage in cabin at 1:00pm. We selected Any Time dining in the MDR shared tables most evenings. Did not wait once. Food and selection choice was good. Did ...

Wanted to go to Hawaii with our granddaughters. This is our third cruise on the Ruby and I have to say since our last cruise on Princess, the food has returned to it’s past excellence. The MDR staff we had were exceptional. Not sure if this was because we had the girls with us or not, but we had amazing service. This is the first time we had come in contact with the kids program and both ...

I wanted to see Hawaii. Husband does not like to fly, and this was a round trip Los Angeles. Embarkation was a breeze (got there at noon). We ususally do not check our bags and just carry them on ourselves. Usually going at this time, vwe only need to wait a few minutes and can drop the bags off in our rooms. First time on Princess - loved it! First time on long sea days, loved it! Seas were ...

From the time we got to the port, checked in, went through security and boarded the ship, to the 15 days onboard and the disembarkation, everyone was friendly, helpful and made it very easy for us as first time cruisers. The variety of food offered in the buffet was great, and while there were a few options that were over cooked, they were far and few between. The bar personnel were beyond great, ...

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Ruby Princess

My husband has cruised on Princess once before (about 12 years ago) and he really wanted to go with them again. I wanted to be able to drive to the departure port so we chose a 7-day California Coastal, round trip from LA. It was just the two of us ages 45 and 46. Left the kids at home since they don't appreciate cruising (which is fine with me as it's much cheaper that way!). After reading ...

The whole trip was great except for we could not port in Monterey because the seas were too choppy for the tenders to come pick us up. But that was OK because we got two days in San Diego. The cruise director and his staff are fantastic. Everybody is very nice and the ship was very clean. The food in the dining room was really good. The buffet had most of the same things each night so I prefer ...
