Food was excellent (nice choice and variety). Service has excellent (stateroom stewards were amazing!). Thoroughly enjoyed how close the ship got to Hubbard Glacier. Also enjoyed the other ports of call. The Naturalist on the cruise was also amazing. Saw dolphins, whales, and sea lions from the ship - cool!
DID NOT LIKE WARD’S COVE. Oceania’s parent company, NCL, has their own dock, outside ...
We chose Oceania based on their culinary record, service and small size. We have previously cruised on Viking and love their modern ships. R class ships have been beautifully refurbished. We had sailed on Azamara Quest - a similar ship from Renaissance cruises. We joined the last segment of ATW cruise which began in San Francisco on January 2023! While a majority of the ship had been together ...
This was our first experience sailing with Oceania. Overall, it was very enjoyable with a few minor problems I’ll outline later.
Here are the positive points.
Check in was a breeze. We arrived about 2:30pm and were immediately accompanied to the empty immigration and security areas. A few minutes later we boarded and checked in the quiet Insignia Lounge (again zero people waiting) and were ...
Oceania Insignia Review
June, 2023
Cabin Class – B1 – Deck 6
We were on a 24-night cruise from Tokyo to San Francisco via the northern Japanese Islands, the Aleutian Islands, the Inside Passage and the Oregon and Washington coasts.
SHIP OVERALL
Overall, the ship is in very good condition. However, she was built in 1998 (as the “R One” for Renaissance Cruise Lines), as such it is ...
My husband and I signed up for the Regatta cruise round trip out of Los Angeles. We’d sailed Celebrity in the Mediterranean and to Alaska twenty years ago and enjoyed those trips but weren’t yearning to cruise again. We’d heard from friends who sailed before the pandemic that Oceania had phenomenal food and wine service. Instead, we got great food at several meals, but mostly it was something I’d ...
Here is my review of our Regatta 12 day Alaska cruise embarking in Los Angeles on May 18th, 2023. Also some tips about the Ship that I have not read elsewhere on Cruisecritic.
We have sailed several times to Alaska but this was our first voyage with Oceania. Overall we were impressed with the quality of the food and service. Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived at 2PM to no lines whatsoever. ...
We had not cruised for several years (pandemic and health issues) and were really excited to try a luxury cruise line. All of our previous 20 or so cruises have been with Premium cruise lines. We should have tried a short Oceania cruise before committing to a World Cruise so the fact that we were so disappointed was our fault entirely. On the positive side, the ship size was perfect. We were able ...
NOTE: We were only on the first segment from Miami to San Francisco.
The following review is intended to provide helpful information to those considering cruising on the Oceania Insignia. Please remember that this is only one person’s opinion and may not reflect your view or the opinions of others. I will be providing a grade for each of the ship’s various services along with an explanation of ...
Regent is our favourite cruise line and we chose this cruise to coincide with the celebration (a year late due to Covid) of our Golden Wedding Anniversary.Having flown into Calgary we stayed over before transferring to the Rimrock Hotel enjoying a day in the Banff national park before boarding the Rocky Mountaineer for a two day journey from Banff to Vancouver prior to our Alaskan cruise. ...
For our first trip into unknown territory after Covid, we decided on a smaller river ship down the St. Lawrence Seaway. The PearlMist was the perfect size, about 100 rooms--every one of them with a balcony--and laid-back. We're not into a Las Vegas sized and style cruise. We much prefer a passenger experience that was manageable and comfortable. Pearl Mist provided it.
The good things about ...
