We chose Celebrity on the recommendation of friends and the destination itinerary. We had previous enjoying wonderful cruise experiences with Princess.
The Millenium is dated and there is little to suggest that its recent refurbishment has improved its appearance

We sailed out of Miami November 27, 2016 for 14 nights.
This was our third sailing on a Solstice class. The Eclipse still has fuller spaces in the Sky Lounge and the Lawn club, while the Reflection reduced them to construct luxury suites and private cabanas. Given a choice we will opt for the Eclipse in the future.

We arrived a little later than we normally do and were surprised by the very long lines outside of the terminal. We had made this same journey for same dates +/- a day or so as last year. Seems kind of crazy to take the same trip twice, but we are so glad we did. We had the best butler ever - Arnell and the staff in Luminae once again made the trip special. Food was great and they worked with my low sodium diet to keep me from swelling up like Veruca Salt. Chose the cruise as part of a holiday that included a pre cruise land tour of Vietnam and Cambodia.
The ship was tired and in need of a lot of refurbishment, especially the cabins on deck 7 where the balcony door frames had all rusted out. The restaurant was very busy but the waiters were terrific but some of the bar staff all around the ship were arrogant and unfriendly.

We are Elite Captains Club members, and chose the Aqua level. This made our cruise different in several ways. As Elites we enjoyed the light, special breakfast and the evening cocktail hour. Aqua allowed us access to the Persian Room spa facility, and dining in Blu. Blu is truly a specialty restaurant, and the food was both varied and excellent. We chose this for its itinerary as part of a special birthday celebration. The ship appeared tired, although supposedly refitted in April 2016! Balconies and staterooms were rusty, with the rails bowed, shower rooms were badly maintained with loose tiles, cupboard handles loose. Public toilets were also lacking in maintenance.

We took the Eclipse on a southern Caribbean cruise Nov 27. It was surprisingly hot in Aruba and Curacao. The other ports were better, temperature wise. We visited St. Lucia, Barbados, St Kitts, St. Maartin and Antigua. The new menu on the Eclipse was a nice improvement. No more beef cheeks!!
