Great itinerary! Service and food, not so much.....
"We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, the smaller ship size, the expectation of great food and service, and our past experience with Oceania. We were anticipating great food throughout our trip based on our past experience and the fact that Oceania bosts they have the "best cuisine at sea"...."Read More

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Sirena

The cruise staff was very very nice. That's the only positive thing. The cruise was attended by emptying 3 or 4 retirement old folk home. Maybe, 10 people under 70 and there were many people were on walkers and wheelchairs. In addition, the very few activities were canceled when a gastro infection was taking people down. No daily lively entertainment. This cruise is for recovering from a ...

Oceania Sirena - Miami to Panama City - March 7-17 2024 This was my third cruise with Oceania. The first was the Eastern Mediterranean in 2009, the second was Northern Europe in 2012. I really enjoyed those two cruises; this one, not so much. Based on my experiences on this cruise, it's unlikely I will take a 4th cruise with Oceania. Let's start with the good. The food was excellent. I did ...

Sirena January 24- Cabin stewards and wait staff are, as always, terrific. We've cruised with Oceania for years and we are continually impressed. I can't say enough about the over-worked people who make the beds and carry the trays and swab the decks. They are just about universally accommodating and pleasant. I suspect that the staff has been significantly reduced. Before Covid the waiters ...

Oceania Sewage in room

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Sirena

Normally, Oceania is our go to cruise line with smaller less crowded ships and fabulous cuisine. 2/3rds into this cruise we woke to raw sewage spewing up through the shower drain and spilling into the room. At first, they claimed they would have us back in the room after cleanup, which of course was ludicrous given sewage on and under the carpet. Oceania had offered a measly amount discount for a ...

The best service and dining possible. Everyone helpful and cordial. Everything organized perfectly. If you want a nice mature group of passengers that are well traveled, respectful of one another, are friendly and courteous, this is the place to be. If you want roller coasters, rock climbing and blearing rock music all day, maybe not. All restaurants are wonderful. The open air seating ...

We chose this cruise to avoid winter snow up north. We have visited the Caribbean many times so the excursions and sightseeing were less important than getting away and relaxing. I gained six pounds from eating the food which was excellent. We ate almost all of our meals at the Terrace Grill which offered lobster tails, fish, lamb chops, shrimp, steaks at lunch and dinner. They had carving ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Sirena

First time for us on Oceania. Very small ship. No crowds. They advertise "The best cuisine at sea, NOT! The buffet was awful. Main dining room, hit or miss. Specialty dining(included in price) Very Good. Room service was fast and efficient. Bread was always stale. Not much entertainment on board but enjoyable. Comedian was just plain terrible. Her second show drew less than 20 people. I was on ...

We chose the cruise as it was goiing to interesting different ports of call. The first one was Costa Maya, where we were unable to dock and understand that happens frequently. also heard that actually its very scruffy there. Other ports of call varied. We had an excellent excursion from Guatamala with brilliant guide and included high speed boat trip up the New River. The Tabyana beach day, ...

After some time in Panama City and a slow trip back home, our bags are unpacked and I am now provide this very subjective, but hopefully balance, review. Overall, we had an excellent cruise with good to excellent food and service. By way of background, we have only sailed on Oceania and this was our 6th cruise with them. Embarkation We had registered for a 12:30 boarding time but found ...

A very pleasant cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Sirena

The Sirena is one of 4 small ships owned by the upmarket Oceania Cruises. The selling features are its small size, under 700 passengers, no crowds, lines, and children. The officers, staff and crew could not have been nicer. I was impressed by Carson Turner, a super - talented cruise director… a really affable guy who is also a talented singer and performer. Actually, the entire ...
