Spectacular Ship in Most Ways, But Some Ways IMPROVEMENT NEEDED
"One aspect often overlooked is this 5-star aspect of Celebrity cruises, including this one--the Edge was immaculately clean and maintained from the moment we got on the ship to departure.Just want to make a series of points that might be helpful to future Edge and Edge class cruisers and, perhaps, to Celebrity Cruise Line...."Read More

Celebrity edge cruise

I was very excited to cruise on the Edge, I had read all the celebrity promo and it looked fabulous. We had an internal room deck 11, this was very nice nothing to complain about. The drinks packages and Wi- fi packages are extortionate. I did feel that Celebrity are trying to extract every extra dollar that can from you. The excursion's are something you do not want to go near as they are ...

Nice ship but boring; and do the math

We've taken 4 Celebrity cruises, 2 in the last 6 months, but probably won't take anymore. Beautiful ships, good food and great service but BORING. I'm not sure they have the right target audience (we're in our late 60's). For example, very talented musicians play easy-listening playlists. Look at the audience; they are playing cards! Another example: they have crafts during the day but ...

Beautiful Ship, but it stops there..

The ship and rooms are very nice. The staff in general very friendly. BUT,! The customer service and organization is poor. Over priced excursions, so most book through someone else. We cruised Australia and had 4 ports that used Tenders to shore. The Tender process was terrible, wait times of 1-2 hours to get on a tender, 30 minute boat ride and then the piers were 30 mins from town. ...

Cruise from HELL

This cruise was a present from my employer for myself, husband and 3 year old disabled daughter. The first night I got food poisoning from bad fruit. I was very sick the first night into the second day. I was advised to go see the acupuncturist but it was so expensive ($400) AUS and the online doctor was just as expensive. My daughter who is autistic was treated very poorly and my belief, ...

We were very excited to board the Celebrity Edge for our post-wedding cruise. We had recently been on one of the millennium-class ships, but the new edge class looked so much more impressive and appealed more to our sense of style. In anticipation we had watched all kinds of videos, and read all kinds of reviews on what to expect. In person it is just as stunning as we had expected, and the ...

Appalling queues

Cruise ruined by very poor organisation to leave ship .have been in the queue for 20 Minutes. Not even half way. Queue snakes around dining room and two corridors. This is the situation in Wellington but getting back on in Dunedin nearly as bad. Do not seem to be organised or bothered. Quite happy for passengers to queue for 45 minutes to get off a ship Food has been of a high standard ...

A boat so boring, never a cruise again

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Edge

First Time Cruiser • Age 60s

The three positive points of the boat, the very nice cabins, the very helpful staff, the very good quality of the food (a little too salty) at the buffet. It is better to avoid restaurants which are crowded and where you wait and where you do not benefit from the beautiful view of the buffet. The entertainment is very very very poor, the basic Internet package is lousy and you have to pay 45 ...

My husband and I are longtime Celebrity cruisers, enjoying the Zenith long before the cruise line was purchased by RCCL. We’ve sailed on the Edge on three prior trips as well as sailing on the Apex and the Beyond. When we began planning this trip another couple asked if they could join us because they know we are Celebrity fans. We did have a fabulous cruise and loved each of the ports at which we ...

We chose this cruise because it hit the ports we wanted and we had 2 previous cruises on Celebrity that were good. It's a mid line cruise company. First, never again 3,000 passengers. We would meet people and never see them again. Second, that's art? A whole black room with pillars called a work of art. Blech! Goop dropping out of a picture frame, piles of metal welded together? Not ...

Disappointing all round

Let’s start with the positives: We haven’t sunk (yet). Food variety in the main buffet is good. Eden bar is very nice. And now the negatives: Celebrity continue to cost-cut on quality and ‘nickel-and-dime’ everything. Consistently tepid food in the main buffet and, surprisingly, in the main restaurants. Insufficient waiting staff in the bars. Classic drinks package includes ...
