Beautiful ship, friendly helpful crew
"There are quite a few TV channels on the TV, including BBC1, ITV etc, but as we left the waters around the British Isles, we lost the satellite signal, which left us with just a few channels and the films.Saga needs to make better provision for people who are isolating, as we paid an awful lot of money to watch TV for 5 days!..."Read More

An entertaining trip with an entertaining Captain

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Spirit of Adventure

Although our cruise choices are by no means exclusively with Saga, we chose this cruise as we have enjoyed several cruises with them in the past and this one particularly suited us having recently had a few health issues to cope with. We're never quite convinced that Saga's all-inclusive offering is the value for money they claim it to be but the fact that (nearly) everything is paid for in ...

We wanted some winter sun and friends had recommended Saga. We had never sailed with them before but do prefer smaller ships to the large monstrosities that the 5-6,000 passengers. Very good journey to Portsmouth and very smooth embarcation, our cabin was ready when we boarded. The cabin was very clean and the bathroom adequate the only negative was the lack of room in front of the wardrobe. The ...

An Accessible Canarian Christmas on Saga’s Spirit of Adventure

As first timers we were not aware of Saga’s early booking system with its large discounts so we ended up paying £17,202 for a deluxe adapted cabin. There are only 10 adapted cabins on the ship so we considered ourselves fortunate just to get one. GOOD POINTS: 1. The booking procedure and all queries were dealt with professionally by the knowledgeable Saga telephone staff. 2. It was a ...

Canary Islands with Saga

I am writing this from a disabled passenger's point of view. We chose this company because of its reputation for caring for those who do not move so easily. The taxi arrived at the promised time and we loaded it up with our cases and aids. The journey from Cheltenham to Portsmouth has an estimated time of around two hours. The morning was very wet and unpleasant. Shortly after we set off I ...

Last year we went on the Discovery same time similar itinerary, and I gave it 5 stars for everything, so we were happy to book this cruise on her sister ship. Transfer to ship excellent, boarding ok, cabin only had one chair and one tooth mug ,soon sorted, first disappointment , no art classes only craft, never mind not a deal breaker, first shower, flooded the whole bathroom floor, used all the ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Spirit of Adventure

We booked this cruise over a year ago as we've never been to the Isles of Scilly and it'd be rather difficult for us to visit by other means. This time of year can be a bit risky as the ships have to tender at all times and autumn is often a time of high winds and seas in the Western Approaches but on this occasion, luck was with us and the weather was ideal for landing. Boarding at Dover was ...

We were interested to sail round the UK and see some new places without worrying about stupid covid rules that other countries may impose. Everything about the cruise was excellent. Pick up and return home were prompt and easy, collection from home was a real plus. Boarding and disembarkation was efficient, as was luggage delivery. The basic cabin was absolutely fine with a good balcony. All ...

This was my first cruise with Saga but I have done several other cruises with various cruise lines. Having taken into account all that is included on a Saga cruise it was the best deal for me as a solo traveller. The door to door chauffeur service to Dover was a good start to what proved to be a memorable holiday. Insurance was included, tips, drinks package, Wifi, four excursions, speciality ...

Saga Spirit of Adventure Norway’s Cities and Fjords 21st - 28th July 23 Background We have been in 30+ ocean cruises in the last 20 years. Mostly with Silver Seas or Seven Seas/Regent. But in 2022 we chose a Saga cruise on the Spirit of Discovery for the first time as, post pandemic, we didn't want to fly. We were so impressed we booked again on Spirit of Adventure.. Price Like ...

I put down a deposit on a pair of Saga cruises in March 2020 for a 2021 cruise date. Poor timing, eh? It wasn't until three years later that I finally boarded the Spirit of Adventure to go on two different back-to-back cruises than I had initially booked. I chose Saga not so much for the itineraries but for the ship. And for what I had read about how they welcome solo travelers. I was not ...
