Negatives: Previous 9 times I have embarked a ship in Vancouver I arrive at 11 am and get on board quickly. 2 large ships in Port. Celebrity and Royal Caribbean were dispersing room keys before we entered security. The 2 groups were put through security together and in the same waiting area. 7 terminals for passports were not being used; the person was guiding individuals to the terminals! The ...
Great trip. We used Choice Air for our flight from Seattle to Anchorage, ($99), and rented a car for the drive to Seward, (3 hrs $185). The drive was very scenic, but a little cloudy. We stayed 1 night at the Saeurdough Lodging, basic, but clean and good location.
We had booked a "guaranteed " Sky Suite, but were upgraded to a Royal Suite, (sweet). Check-in took 5 minutes and we were on ...
It has been 10 years since we sailed on the Millennium. We noticed the changes and improvements right away. Unlike the negative reviews on this forum, we had a very pleasant trip and found the staff and crew to be very friendly. Services levels for house keeping and in the MDR were excellent. The Captain was visible along with his officiers.
During our sailing I found the ship to be very ...
cabin 7003 great, to the fore on port side get to see bow of ship from room window and a sit is facing forward both coastlines at once
Perfect on inside passage Alaskan tour weather not suitable for much need of balcony tho if you suffer from motion sickness maybe not best choice
Jordan and Elvis were exceptional hosts.
Martini bar was great start to evening a bit of fun on way to ...
We chose to sail with Celebrity because so many other ships have obstructed views from the outside cabins. We had sailed with Celebrity once before ( was the same ship) and loved it. The cruise was wonderful from beginning to end. The food was outstanding and if you did not like what was the feature for the evening, their was always lots to chose from on the standard available every night side ...
We sailed from Canada Place in Vancouver. We got to the dock at 11:20 am and were sitting on board the ship eating lunch by 12 noon. It was the most organized embarkation that we have ever had. We have sailed on 16 cruises now and this was one of the best all round. We had an outside room on the 2nd deck Room 2171. It was a normal size for a cruise ship and the beds are so comfortable. The ...
First may I say Alaska was beyond works. We totally enjoyed the land portion of the cruise. The guides and drivers were outstanding. Knowledgeable and kind and entertaining. With the exception of one nights stay in a small non A/C cabin the accommodations were fine. The first place room was fine, but places to eat were minimal. You could eat at the Hotel, but prices were high and you ...
Started in Anchorage with Celebrity's pre-cruise land tour which was excellent!
Arrived ANCHORAGE a day early: highly recommend making reservations ahead for dinner at GLACIER BREW HOUSE and breakfast at SNOW CITY CAFE. Others had 90 minute wait, we were seated within 10 minutes. DELICIOUS! Had halibut and salmon dinners; omlette and orange cream cheese stuffed french toast for breakfast + ...
We've cruised 12 times and this is the 1st on Celebrity. We were expecting an upgrade from Royal Caribbean and Princess (our previous cruises). But we were very disappointed to find the level of service was worse than RC or Princess. Here's a summary of what we found:
The Ship:
The ship was tired and worned down. The exterior shows a lot of chipped paint, rust, etc. The steps on upper ...
First let me say that the ship was in very good shape and the crew was very friendly. Our cabin steward was nothing short of great. The ports were nice and we had great weather. We had a chance to see the "Northern Lights" while we were on the tour portion of the trip along with incredible view of Denali. Steve, our tour guide while at Denali was one of the most knowledgeable guides I have ...
