We just completed our 7 night cruise aboard the Radiance of the Seas and while it was fresh, writing a quick review. I'm a rookie "cruiser" with this being my second cruise ever. We went with our family and enjoyed two balcony staterooms. For two people, found it plenty of room with a comfy bed and storage areas. I was surprised with the lack of basic amenities (lotion, conditioner, etc) - even ...
I will start by saying this was my first cruising experience, so I cannot compare this other cruises. Our cruise departed from Vancouver at Ballantyne port. We were to board between 11am and 3pm. We arrived at the port at 2pm and assumed about a 45minute wait which we were told by previous cruisers was normal...we were completely wrong! All in all it took 3 hours and 1o minutes from the time we ...
We sailed on the Southbound 7 nights May 2014 Alaskan Cruise departing from Seward heading towards Hubbard Glacier, Juneau, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, Ketchikan and Disembarkation Vancouver.
Flying from Florida we arrived in Anchorage the night before the cruise and stayed at Anchorage City Lofts ($130 a night). The day of the cruise we took the Alaskan Rail Road Train from Anchorage to Seward. ...
This was the 5th time we have been on an Alaska Cruise. This was the second time on the Radiance of the Seas. The first time was our FIRST Cruise and it was before the refit .The Ship really has not changed much except for new restaurants . Our experiences and knowledge have changed quite a bit. Every cruise line is different and you can not compare one to the other it is not a fair comparison. ...
After having sailed on the same ship a decade ago the 2nd time around was a little disappointing, embarkation was a joke, 4 long hours standing in line, to travel 500 meters, even though we were at the dock in plenty of time we didn't set foot on the ship until 30 minutes after our sailing time. We were not offered an explanation, an apology a glass of water anything, we missed the muster so our ...

I wrote about getting on and off the Radiance on the message boards, it was the worst of the worst. The Ballantyne Pier in Vancouver does not handle cruise ships well at all. Like most everyone else it took us almost 4 hours to get on board with long slow lines. The Windjammer was a welcome sight after that ordeal.
The cruise to Alaska could not have been better. The weather ...
We are long time cruisers, but this was our first cruise to Alaska. We had always heard how wonderful they were, but in all honesty, we are from Oregon and Alaska is very similar. We finally gave in and went.
I'm glad we did. I loved that during all but the last day, there was always land in site. Amazing vistas! You could just sit at a window for hours, saw dolphins, eagles, humpbacks and an ...
I write a ton of hotel reviews for trip advisor, but this is my first cruise review so forgive me if I seemed to have left out pertinent information.
Background:
I'm 22 and just graduated college. My graduation gift was this cruise to Alaska. We had been on a Royal Caribbean cruise on Explorer just under 10 years ago, and it was probably the worst vacation of our life. Granted, it was a perfect ...
We were so excited for this cruise! Paid A LOT ($10.000+) for this as it was a celebration of my retirement from education. Had a suite where the only one higher was the Royal Suite. The suite was fine....comfy bed, it was roomy. Here is where things tarted to go south.
As we were hanging up our clothes, I opened one of the HUGE closets to find HUGE dust bunnies! This hadn't been cleaned forever! ...
Firstly thing I want to say to anybody planning on doing a cruise for a honeymoon is don't. With the amount of great food and activities on board, you don't do much "honeymooning" at night.
We took this cruise as our honeymoon. We stayed at the Novotel Rockford Darling Harbor. It was a nice hotel in a great spot between Chinatown and Darling Harbor. I would stay there again. It cost about $15 for ...
