Subpar in areas but glowing in others; be honest why you're booking the ship

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

The Adventure is an odd boat within the Royal family. Never mind the fact that balconies are merely a partial window cutout of the steel side but the pace of things on the ship (including staff) moves way slower than other ships in the company portfolio. Arrival – What a nightmare. The station in San Juan is a free-for-all trying to get on the ship. No employees are directing people. There’s a ...

We are just off the 4-12 thru 4-19 sailing...Aruba route We had a great time- 2 teens and 2 53 yr olds. We travel based on the ports and a ship has to have a promenade. On adventure, you can tell that the decor is older but everything was clean. We were on Freedom 2 yrs ago- liked the cabin decor much better on Freedom. ACTIVITIES___Tino, the activities director was super energetic and lively. ...

Great Vacation on a Great Ship

My wife and I have traveled quite a bit over the past 20 years, but as far as cruises go, this was only our third one, and first with Royal Caribbean. For us choosing a cruise meant departing from San Juan, so our choices of ships was much more limited than most. And also my wife was off work for 1 year due to cancer, and the only time we could even think about leaving on vacation was the ...

Sunday We arrive to San Juan Airport about 11:30 AM. Immediately took taxi to Pan-American pier for Adventure of Seas at $21 . Handed off our bags to tenant. Than took the same cab into old San Juan for $8. Had cabbie drop us off at Barrachina restaurant. Famous for being the first to introduce the pina-colada. We ate lunch and walk in the city admiring the beauty of the Old San Juan. ...

My vacation on the Adventure of the Seas was amazing & I'm so sad I'm back to reality! Background – This is my 8th cruise, I usually go on all the new ships but wanted to try something different. I loved the itinerary. I only sailed on Royal Caribbean, NCL & Carnival: love them all! I wish we didn’t have to go during spring break (airfare from NYC to SJU was insane!) but due to the teachers in ...

We had a wonderful time. That being said, there were a few minor dislikes. None ruined anything, but would be nice if they were different. Ice cream on deck 11 only open limited hours. Kids seemed to find it closed when trying to get some quite often. Only open about 11am-6pm. Buffet didn't have a huge selection, and was closed from 5pm until 6:30pm and didn't open until 7am in the ...

Royal Caribbean 7 day cruise on Adventure of the Seas As a first time cruiser I am here to share some things we learned. The first day board the ship as early as possible and enjoy your ship. I recommend flying into San Juan at least a day early and heading right over to the pier in the early afternoon. We stayed at the Hilton Caribe. Great property, location and service.  The first day ...

This cruise was our second time sailing on the AOS. We arrived a day early in San Juan. It's much more relaxing to arrive a day early and less stress at the airport and getting to the port. To avoid the long taxi line at the airport, a porter will take your luggage to the front of the line for $10. Money well spent!! For the third time, we stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in the Isla Verde ...

I was really worried about this cruise after reading some of the reviews but was pleasantly surprised by AOS!! We had a fantastic time! We were a family of 4 and had a balcony room 9622. Dennis was our room attendant and was excellent! The Windjammer and pool were only 2 flights up from us. We were close to the stairs and it was still quiet at night. The shipped was sold out due to spring break ...

This was our (my wife and I) third cruise on RCI in 5 years and love their ships, including the Adventure of the Seas. Regardless of the ship, there's something for everyone. As we've grown older, we don't participate in all activities as before, but enjoy the fact that we have choices. One thing I have to mention is that the Pan American pier from which the Adventure embarks (and disembarks) ...
