Great ports, mediocre food

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

Embarkation and debarkation as suite guests went smoothly as did transfers to and from airport. San Juan airport is in need of rehab and updating. It's dirty, unkempt, and expensive except for duty free booze. Ship is also older and need of updating. Repair work was constant near our stateroom and there was the persistent smell of methane in one area. One couple we met had it the odor so bad ...

I had read so many reviews about the embarkation process that I was a little worried about getting on board and was really surprised that we were on board and in our stateroom in less than 20 minutes. The announced on board time was listed as 2PM and we arrived by about 10 after dropped our luggage went through the check-in line in about 10 minutes waited a short time for the on board picture ...

This was a family trip. Myself and my husband and my sister and her husband and their (adult) son. Except for the son, the rest of us are over 50. This was the first cruise that we all did that had a pretty aggressive list of port visits. I will describe our trip in three categories: The good, the bad and the ugly. THE GOOD: Ship was in ship-shape. All the public spaces were in great ...

Embarking and Disembarking: We arrived at 1:45pm for a embark time of 2pm, and the line was huge. We got to our cabin at 4:30pm. The first two hours was without water, restrooms, or a place to sit. Over an hour of the time was spent in a line pushing our luggage forward. If we could have just dropped off our luggage, then it would have made standing in line easier. They did not match luggage and ...

The Most Horrible Cruise we have ever sailed on!

First of all, SHAME ON R.C.C.L. for not disclosing what we were getting into with this cruise. We paid a good amount of money for our J.S. and experienced the worse cruise we have ever encountered! Even worse then Carnival! We cruise Dec. 9-16th out of Puerto Rico on the Adventure. Everything went smooth boarding the ship itself. But then things fell apart pretty fast.............. Out of 3400 ...

Overall, this was a great vacation for my partner and I. We are both in our 30's and have cruised on both Princess and Norwegian before but decided to try Royal Caribbean for the first time. I booked this ship knowing how large it was and how much there was to do on board. I'm not going to write out every detail here but will give an overview of positives and negatives. Positives: The staff ...

One week ago we returned from a 7 night so. Caribbean cruise. The last night on the ship I had a sore throat, the next day a head cold. the next day terrible chest congestion. I have been out of commission for the entire last week, am still coughing, achy, out of breath, and tired. THis, the week before Christmas! I was extremely careful to use hand sanitizes and wash my hands frequently since ...

This is our second RC cruise--last one was 7 years ago. Some things very similar--game shows, fun vibe, very friendly and very helpful staff. Some things worse--food has definitely deteriorated. Seven years ago I would have described dining room food as excellent. This time--fair. Most of the dishes were lukewarm, the vegetables were always undercooked (almost raw)and I am a big veggie fan, ...

We arrived in San Juan 2 days before our cruise. We had a wonderful stay at the Marriott Stellar is it is a beautiful hotel with an amazing view! We were in room 718 and had a partial view of the ocean. The the hotel restaurant La Vista Grill has a delicious but pricey buffet dinner. The food was so good that we would dine there again. There is a Walgreen's on the corner across from the hotel ...

This was one of the best cruises we've ever taken. The most striking thing about this cruise was the people - passengers, staff and crew. Since we originated in Malaga, Spain, the majority of the passengers were from the UK with many from various parts of Europe, Australia and, of course, the US. The ambiance of the ship was very pleasant. We had a very large group of hearing impaired ...
