The cruise was average. We had great service in the dining room in the evening. The entertainment was ok. There was a comedian that was good (with puppets). and the ice show was excellent. When I had lunch in the dining room I ordered hot tea. Each time, the tea never came. Thankfully my dinner waiter stopped over to ask how the service was and if he could get me anything. Otherwise, I'd still be waiting on the tea. Also dessert never came at lunch dining room dining. There were too many sea days with nothing much to do. Too crowded in the solarium to find a chair. On the pool deck it was loud when playing a movie. Did do a wine tasting (that was and extra charge) and it was very informative and fun. The smoke from the casino was traveling into the lounges on the front and the back side of it. They really need to do a better job of containing the smoke in the casino. I am a crown and Anchor member and I was not welcomed back or given a listing of what was loaded as perks on my sea pass. When I inquired at the help desk, they told me they are loaded on my sea pass and that was it. I asked for a listing and they told me there isn't one. (the friends I was traveling with each got one from the desk). The manager at the time, told me this. I tried several times at the crown and anchor desk on deck 7. Everytime I went to see if someone was on duty, no one was there. Even if it was time that said they would be there. After 4x, I just gave up. It was consuming too much time. I had not been to Labdee for years. It has been built up and had many more things to do. I liked that they had locals working there but didn't like that they expected tips to take the lounge chairs down and were angry if you would help yourself to chairs. I didn't take any cash onto the island, just wanted to relax. They should probably just pay these folks a bit of a salary and spare guests getting asked every several feet if they want a chair and hang about until you reach for your wallet. St Martin is always a great stop and Puerto Rico there is a lot to do. boarding and unloading went smoothly. without too much waiting. Customs was not much waiting either. Didn't do any excursions because of the cost and nothing really jump out. Spa service was very good. Actually all the employees were very good. Didn't like the promenade area. The shops are much smaller and had very little in them. They put out tables along the promenade with products on them and caused a log jam of people. The pub was very popular and had people spilling out of it into the promenade. The sushi place was much larger and hardly had any people in it. Maybe they should swap out the spaces? The ship was sparsely decorated for Christmas. That was pretty surprising. Had a nice time but it is hard to not look back and remember what cruising was like years ago and what it has now become. A nickle and dime-ing extravaganza. Read Less

We did this cruise with friends on their first cruise. Quite the experience. First the good: we were in 6640, balcony cabin. Embarkation was quick easy and painless! It was very nice, good location and the bed was great. We didn't mind the lower half of balcony obstructed. The promenade deck was just below us with all the fun stuff and coffee shop! The staff were polite and friendly for the most part. The comedy shows were excellent and so was the ice show. This was our 9th cruise and with husband's retirement in a year we are looking forward to more! So to the negatives: The staff in the main dining room where we ate every night was pretty out of sync. The waits were long, food was either cold (in the beginning, they did do better later) wine was very slow as well. I got the feeling they were short-staffed. It was just chaos the first two-three nights. There was no Somalier so the wait staff brought wine - also very slow in the beginning. Getting info on just what was allowed on the drink package in the bars was also a big problem on the first day. The coffee in buffet and dining room was awful. Thank goodness for the drink package where we could get Starbucks every day. We also were on special diets because of health issues. Low carb, which means no bread, rice, potatoes, crackers, cereals. The cruise ship caters to regular eaters - I understand, but the lack of variety got boring. Carrots and broccoli every single night. The next big problem we had was the fact that on the last day was we were in a hurry to disembark to catch a flight - we had to deal with the ship charging us for drinks they claimed we were "sharing"!! No one asked us if we did this (we did not!), they just stuck it on our bill. This is such poor customer service! The buffet was also a problem in that apparently the workers in there are strictly for bussing tables. They do not bring coffee, water or flatware. So then you have to go back up to where there are tons of people with food plates and get all up in that mess again. Seems like this is a poor way to do it. The buffets are crowded enough without all the flatware being up there too. We had a few other problems too but the lack of service and the trying to sneak a charge on our bill really made me angry. We chose this cruise for the timing, between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Although we are veteran cruisers we had never sailed RCCL. The overall cruise was good (what's not to like on a cruise?). We found the staff generally friendly and accommodating. The main dining room provided surprisingly good food with superior service from our waiter, Joel, his assistant, Igety(sp?) and Amit, our section leader. Passengers, on the other hand, were exceptionally rude and ill mannered. Why, when you have a fixed table assignment, do you need to push others out of the way to get into the MDR? We also encountered some rude behavior by staff in the spa - remember the Julia Roberts character in "Pretty Woman"? These incidents were, however, isolated and did not significantly mar our overall experience. But we did come home with a few hundred dollars that had been earmarked for the spa, but went unspent. My family chose the cruise line and I'm glad they did. Adventure is a wonderful ship and has a great host of activities to take part in. The ports were exciting and I got to see things I had only had dreams of. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world. The food was really good and there were so many choices along with a variety of good drinks. Our cruise director and activities manager were exceptional and made our cruise the life of the water. This ship is a great choice for 1st timers and those who are cruise experienced. The dining room experience opened my eyes to different cultural outlooks and they were always polite. You have to go aboard to get your own experience versus going by someone else's opinion. I had a wonderful time during this cruise. I will definitely be planning another cruise with RCCL. Read Less

We chose this Cruise because it Departed from a port near us, was reasonable and we frequently sail with Royal Caribbean. We really liked the Voyager Class ships due and larger due to the smooth sailing and amenities. We always enjoy the Promenade with its shops and cafe'. The staff was very friendly and eager to please, which always makes for a happy cruise. The only comment on the Ship itself is that it could use a litte upgrading in the appointments, ie; furniture, carpets (Room & Public areas). The food was excellent in all areas, entertainment great and varied. The Ports were a bit repetitive but with our many Caribbean cruises that is hard to avoid and some of them tend to look alike and sell the SAME touristy merchandise. But it's still the best way to vacation in our opinion. Unpack once and others "Drive", make your bed, feed you and entertain you. We, however, have a similar complaint with several cruise lines, Royal Caribbean included. They have a tough time adhering to their own rules. They constantly allow passengers to come to the Main Dining room, for Dinner, in Shorts, Wife Beater T-Shirts, flip flops and hats. We have even seen some in Bathing suit cover-ups. We are not saying that they should be dressed formally but come on, it's dinner ! If you prefer to dress sloppy go to the Buffet which is very casual. When we mention this to Dining Room senior staff they tell us Management instructs them to advise guests of the dress policy but to allow them to be seated anyway. We object to this as it changes the atmosphere of the dining room dramatically. Read Less

The Windjammer was very large and laid out well. The Promenade was a hubbub of people and activities.I had a 350 onboard credit from my RCL Visa card.Lost 200 of it in the casino.Saw people winning but not me. We chose this cruise because it occurred after hurricane season and it was presented to us as a ship that had recently been renovated. The ship was clean and the staff very friendly although not very knowledgeable of the ship's functions. When we would ask informational questions the answers that were given were incorrect. Their offer was that you did not need to purchase the internet to use texting on the ship but that was not true. We never did get their app to work correctly until after we purchased the internet package for a day. Also RC only allows smoking in the casino. The entire time of walking through the main deck from our room to the Windjammer it was so smoke filled that we could hardly take a breath without smelling smoke. this was the third cruise we took with RC but feel that what was presented to us on the website and what we actually experienced were two different things. The beds in the cabin were very old and hard......so not very comfortable. However, the food in he Windjammer was great.....it was very appetizing and they take every precaution to make sure that their presentation of it was well done. Overall I would not recommend this ship just because of the second hand smoke. I am a person who has asthma and my lungs were congested throughout the ship. We were a four person cruise but all agreed we would never book a cruise on Adventure of the Seas and think this ship should be retired from service. Read Less

We chose this cruise because I got an email from Royal Caribbean with a "great" deal and it was the time we had planned to go on vacation. The cruise was not up to the RC standards of my previous two cruises with RC. The staff were unhelpful and rude at times and just ignored us the rest of the time. They changed our dining room table number, which was fine, but neglected to tell us that it was for the entire cruise. When we went to go to our table we were rudely told that our table was changed for the rest of the cruise. When the manager realized that he had been rude to us, he tried really hard to make it up to us but still couldn't get it right. He offered to send our dinner to our cabin one night and didn't send the appetizers. He offered wine, but we don't drink wine, and sent a box of stock desserts to our cabin. In our cabin was an advertisement for $12.99/day internet. When I took it to the guest services desk we were laughed at for wanting the internet for this amount when it was normally $15.99/day. Our stateroom attendant, Tu, was awesome. My need for lactose free milk was always attended to happily except for the coffee bar on the 5th level. The ship was clean and tidy. Our cabin was dripping from the vent and it was taken care of immediately. I will think again before I take a Royal Caribbean cruise. Read Less

Live in the area and wanted to visit the itinerary listed. Boarding went smoothly, room was ready. Entered and looked over Promenade and saw the folks across the way, waved to folks in elevator as a joke, but they waved back. Also noticed security camera outside my window, so curtains stayed closed for 8 days. Only opened for nightly wine time. Food in MDR was okay, often not hot since it seemed we were far from the kitchen. Staff were attentive, Axel did a great job! Need more variety for dinners too. Didn't book excursion, too pricey on ship and long lines of complaints. Walked around ports and had fun. Need to have towel checkout moved to opposite side of ship so you don't have to walk through the smokers. Agree with others stating, perpetual upsales as you walked ship were irritating. Also, Bingo pricing way higher from 6 mths ago. Productions shows were good, skating best show on board. Comedy shows dated, Sammy singer was unintelligible, bad mike?!? Main Band was very good.
