The Adventure of the Seas out of Port Liberty, Bayonne NJ Aug 3 - 10 2018. Embarkation at this facility is smooth, similar to other large facilities. The refit of Adventure was worth it. The ship seems new again and clean. Plenty of space on board, even by the pools. It seems the right size for the amount of people on board. Not over crowded like the newer bigger ones that carry 5k plus people. this ship is just right. Good for kids too!, Not so great for teens though. The Dining staff was excellent. I mean really excellent! The bars by the pool were slow and crowded but they opened up little side bars for beer and simple drinks and that seemed to help. The itinerary was simple, Bayonne, Sea day, Port Canaveral, Coco Cay, Nassau, Sea day, Sea day, Bayonne. Coco Cay needs a clean up. The food on the island was not great and the facilities are in need of updating. It was our 3rd time on that island and every time we have had poor food. Also, just be warned, the kids have gotten stung by jelly fish every time and a sea urchin this time too! not so much fun. :( The first aid staff seem to be used to it, like they expect it. other than that, i have no complaints at all. We were a big group of friends and family and the staff handled us like champs. I'll be looking for this ship again. Read Less

Cristin took care of our room 9272 and he was phenomenal. Cristin took care of every question, concern and issue we had with the greatest speed, courtesy and understanding. Cristin’s service made the cruise more than we could have asked for our family and is the reason would recommend and cruise with Royal Caribbean every time. Lounge/Bar service was good everywhere but Nino at Schooner and Noel at Viking were exceptional. Dinning with Larry and Ailing was marvelous every time. Larry’s dinning service was above and beyond for us as well as those around us. All of the crew and staff of the Adventure of the Seas are what made the entire cruise experience perfect and memorable family vacation. The sport activities were excellent for those 12 and under and those 18 and over. Any children that are in the advanced or better athletic ability get left out of the organized events like basketball, dodgeball and volleyball as cruise required participants to be 18 or over. Our almost 16 year old was not allowed to participate in organized events even though he is taller, stronger and more athletic than most that were permitted to participate. This is our only complaint. Parents should be able to sign waver to allow those under 18 to participate. Read Less

This was our 3rd RC cruise and as always, it was splendid! RC is our favorite family vacation. there is always something to do for everyone. We are never bored, the shows are fabulous and the activities are plentiful!!! We have four teenagers and they love the teen center and all the friends they meet there. Adventure of the seas is a great ship for teenagers because they have the water slides and surf simulator which my kids loved!!!! They all got to ride many times and became quite good at surfing. The shore excursions were great! We all loved Pearl Island, there was so much to do, from snorkeling to kayaking, and its all included when you get the excursion through RC. It's like being on your own private island. My only complaint is we wanted to stay there forever. If you are going to cruise I highly recommend RC!!!! Read Less

Our dining experience was first rate. Excellent food (except the Chicken Cordon Blue was terrible). The waiters were wonderful. We took 4 excursions. Day 1 was Portland & Kennebunkport. The scenery was beautiful and we saw President Bush’s family compound. We shopped in the local gift shops and that was fun. The tour guide suggested we have lobster rolls & whoopie pies for lunch, which they are famous for. We found them at a street vendor stand & they were excellent. On day 2 we took a “Victorian Tour”. It wasn’t a good tour at all. We ate at Paddy’s & it was fantastic, esp the blueberry pie! Day 3, at St. Martin’s we visited an Irish pub & ate fish chowder at a local restaurant. Day 4 we went to Halifax & Peggy’s Cove, so beautiful. Also, Forrest Lawn Cemetery where Titanic victims are buried. It was a great tour. The ship was beautiful and we really enjoyed the comedian/piano player in the Scooner Bar. The guitar player in the pub was very enjoyable and we liked the ice skaters and the Love and Marriage Game. The late night adult comedian was really good and we also enjoyed the RC singers and dancers. Read Less

This was our second cruise with RC. Starting right from Bayonne it was a very good cruise. Ship over all was clean and spacious. Last year we sailed on newer Anthem of the Seas, but I still like this ship. Atmosphere was 'very homy'. Cabin was always clean and house keeping staff very friendly and alway ready to help. We only experienced Windjammer for dining. Variety of the food was excellent. RC has very good entertainment. Every production in Lyric Theater or Studio B was excellent. When you are on the deck or in solarium, always you're able to find a chair. Maybe not in the place where you would like to, there are always chairs available. Compare to other cruise lines, you don't see as many chairs reserved by guest at 4 am. Outside promenade on deck 4 is very relaxing. Bars are spacious and you don't wait a long time to be served. We did really like this ship. Read Less

Have been on several Royal Caribbean Cruises but never to Bahamas so we thought this would be fun. We also were eager to try staying in cabin over looking the Promenade. That turned out to be a very nice experience. Cabin seemed a little bit larger than we expected. The only draw back is your curtains must be shut when you want privacy because you can see into cabins across from yours. We loved the Promenade deck just to walk around. We found even if we needed to go from aft to forward we would always walk through the promenade. So much going on any hour of the day or night. Also on that note the room was not noisy even thought we were were very close to the Duck and Dog pub. We didn’t do any of the excursions but we enjoyed all the activities the ship had to offer. Played a lot of trivia games. Also loved the improvisational musical comedy by David Curtis in the Schooner Bar. He was so funny and so talented. Read Less

Has activities for all family members/ages and you can enjoy the boat to the fullest with 4 days at sea. The ports of call are excellent opportunities to do relaxing or unique activities as well as experiencing new things! Would recommend! If you travel with a large group, make sure to call ahead and ensure proper group activities / dinner. Cabin bathroom / shower was small, would probably upgrade next time to have more space. Basketball / soccer / volleyball court was awesome, I could spend all day there, while getting sun at the same time! Great competition with people from all over the world. Great experience. Food was outstanding, eat all day and the drink package was perfect. No alcohol for us, but smoothies and coffee all day every day. Pizza restaurant was the spot to grab a quick bite at any point during the day, great tasting too! With cookies and all types of desserts! Read Less

I have been on a number of cruises. This ship was the best of all of them. From the staff to the entertainment everything was wonderful. Every night each show was better than the next.(which I found lacking on other cruise lines) The ice show was very unexpected and great. The crew was always willing and able to help with smiles on their faces They truly behaved as though they loved what they were doing and making it fun for everyone aboard. Our rooms were always clean and the room attendant was always available. The pool area surprised us because we were always able to get a lounge chair somewhere. The ship never felt crowded and we never had long lines for the buffet or anything else. All the activities, and there were plenty of them, ran on time and the staff running them were always so pleasant. The food in the dinning room was very good and plentiful. If I had to have one negative it was the time spent at Port Canaveral. The time spent there is too short to really enjoy yourself. By the time you actually get off the ship and the time you have to be back by I felt very rushed. Next time I would just stay on board and enjoy what the ship has to offer. Overall I would highly recommend this cruise. Read Less

My 17 year old daughter and I took this trip on Adventure of the Sea for a quick dose of Bahamas fun in the sun. It was exactly that, on and off the ship. We enjoyed the spa. We ate our evening meals in the specialty restaurants. The food was very good. The evening on deck movies were very enjoyable. The casino as always onboard Royal Caribbean is a blast. Wonderful staff are always ready for a good time. Win or lose the Royale Casino is always a great time! Our stateroom 6204 did not have a balcony. I thought I would be very unhappy, but I was fine! The room felt spacios. We woke every morning to a beautiful view from our large round window. The linens on the bed are extremely soft and comfortable. We always woke up happy and refreshed. All of the ports were a lot of fun. Getting on and off the ship was very organized. This made each day stress free and extremely enjoyable! Thank you for the great memories !!! 10++++ to Rolly in the Saphire dining room. Read Less
