We sailed with myself, my husband and our 16 year old son. The main reason for this choice was leaving out of NY as I do not like to fly. Embarkation was easy and fast. We were on the ship in less than 30 min. Overall the boat was wonderful. You can be as busy or as lazy all day as you want. Plenty of activities for all ages. Our room stewert, Randy, made our trip most enjoyable. He was top notch! The food was very good and you have a lot of choices. The windjammer café can get very crowded but keep in mind you are sailing with almost 4000 guests! Also on sea days the pools are very crowded. Dinner everynite was very good. Different menu changed daily, and gave you plenty of choices. We enjoyed our ports of call. Cocoa beach, cocoa cay, and Nassau were beautiful. I do not really have anything to complain about here. The whole experience was enjoyable that the ships crew members go above and beyond to make your trip the best Adventure at Sea!! On to our next Royal Carribean cruise! Read Less

I love cursing with Royal Caribbean! Plenty to do for all ages, food is fantastic and I love the pools, hot tubs and water slides. The shows are wonderful, staff very accommodating and it's hard to resist such great tasting food. Online check-in makes everything run smoothly and no long waiting in lines upon returning. My luggage was there at port waiting and customs were a breeze. The captain and his staff all came out for the farewell show on our last night and shook everyone's hand as we were leaving. My cabin with balcony was the perfect place for reading my book, tanning, enjoying the sights at ports and just watching the moon and listening to the waves at night. I looked forward to each day and choosing the activities/shows I wanted to see and participate in. Our dinner waiters were the best and took great care of us. We couldn't have asked for a better cabin steward! Last year the same week we returned this years cruise was booked. Ready to plan my 2019 cruise now. Read Less

This is our 6th RC week long Caribbean cruise with our kids, including my son's girlfriend. My husband has become more disabled so we rented the scooter this time - he can walk a few steps with his cane - and my son ended up using my husband's wheelchair due to injuring his foot just before our trip. The crew were terrific about accommodating us, never making us feel like a burden. My husband was able to get everywhere we wanted on the ship with that scooter, including down to the observation deck (crew was super nice about working the little elevator thing for him) so we could watch our daughter on the flowrider. I missed the big musicals we've seen on Freedom and the Oasis class ships, but the guest musicians I saw (Love) were terrific. The crew's Vegas show was appropriately cheesy - but my daughter informs me it was no worse, and a bit better - than the show she saw on a Princess cruise. We enjoy the pools on shore days, as we've been there before. Again, the staff is always the best - everyone is kind - and so are fellow passengers about letting him and his scooter onto those precious elevators! We had a great time hanging with the grown kiddos. Unfortunately, I can only compare to the other Freedom class ships and Oasis. I took a Carnival weekend cruise to Tijuana many moons ago... This ship is their oldest and while it was very clean, the age showed up - like on the balcony (we had a handicap room - lots of room for the scooter and wheelchair) where you could see rust under paint. They've updated - carpeting was brand new - and like I said, very clean. Those mattresses are hard though some people probably like that. Read Less

We chose this particular cruise based on what was available on the ship verses the price of the cruise. WE LOVE the Adventure of the Seas!!! Seriously, the absolute best ship. My children had a very good time, and so did the adults. My youngest son is 5 and has autism. He was well cared for by the Adventure Ocean club, and each time he had a blast!! He came back dressed as a pirate one night and superman another night, complete with face paint :) There is a splash pad for very young kiddos and primary aged kids as well and my guy loved them both. FYI, there is an organization called Autism at Sea on board this ship that will assist both kids and adults with autism. They offer assistance during excursions and respite for families. I did not find them until the last day of our cruise, next time we will make the connection! My 11 year old was even entertained the entire time. The science and the games were his favorite part of the club. They had a couple of free hours for the arcade games as well which sure was generous, thank you RC!! My 15 year old loved her club. They had a lot to do, well organized and a controlled environment so it could be fun for all. Lots of games, meet and greets, super fun competitions and even a prom :) My 18 year old took the daily itinerary and planned his day. There were lots of sports competitions (volley ball, soccer, and dodge ball). He loved the Broadway style shows, the ice skating shows and Izumi sushi class. The flow rider was a bit of a disappointment. The lines were crazy and the time you actually got on it was very short. It is a big hit, so best advice from my kiddo is get there early. It is not running when the ship is docked either (bummer). We actually missed out on the game shows, there is just so much to do! They played them on the TV later on, hilarious!! Definitely a MUST do the next time. The ice show was the family favorite, followed by the Broadway show and then the dancers. The movies they played on the ship were current. The food was amazing. Main dining room, nothing to improve on. They have perfection down pat. Ice skating was a blast as well. We do not drink alcohol, but still love the pina colada virgins :) The price was very low, only 4.50$ for a drink! Another cruise line was triple that. I will not sail with another cruise line again. This is the first cruise where I did not feel nickle and dimed. We took 2 shore excursions, the jet skis at Coco Cay (OK) and the Seahorse and Snorkel on Nassau (I highly recommend this one). Book ahead for shore excursions! Seriously, like as soon as you can. The discounts are worth it and the choices get limited long before sailing. We did not get the towel animals until the last 2 days? Not sure why, those are always so much fun. Read Less

The embarkation and disembarkation was easy and smooth out of New Jersey. The cafe Promenade would be better if they have more hot food available like hot soups, hot panini, or a salad bar for lunch. Dining in the MDR was slow the first two nights even though we signed up for the My Family dining time. the New menu for the MDR dinner were great! Waiter finally realize we don't like to sit and wait because we skip dessert one night. The rest of the week, we were done dinner within 1 hour. Cookie Monster, Elsa, Cupcake, Little Bee Betty, Crazy Lady, and Jungle Jorge in ADVenture ocean were awesome! Entertainment in the centrum was ok, similar to other ships. Lots of activities for the family to do= ice skating, rock climbing, water slides, pool. We wish the ice cream bar is open after 9pm ( 11am-9pm) we enjoy late night ice cream after the shows and such. Time for water slides to be opened was limited on port days. IT should be opened all day. Read Less

This was our third time on the "Adventure of the Seas" and it didn't disappoint us. In fact, it has undergone a fabulous facelift. This ship now features a new sushi restaurant, upscaled shops, refurbished junior suites/rooms, and much more. Tis was the first time we have sailed an itinerary that schedule two consecutive days at sea on the return. We were concerned initially that the deck, dining areas, and facilities would be overcrowded. We were pleasantly surprised and everything was literally smooth sailing both days at sea. There were plenty of activities on board to keep us occupied and other passengers, too. Coco Cay was a new stop for us and proved to be very nice snorkeling and parasailing options. The Bahamas is always a good time! Food is always excellent in main dining area. Attentive, friendly, and professional crew and staff is always the normal. We have yet to be disappointed and are ALWAYS treated as ROYAL!. See you in January, 2019 on a newer ship! Read Less

Nice price and port a lot closer to home than Florida. Cruise director and manager were entertaining. The wait staff in the Main dining room were wonderful! The promenade was very unique and the Quest was hilarious!! Getting on and off the ship at ports was very easy. Plenty of seating in the windjammer. My state room was always kept clean as were the public restrooms. The pools were not over chemicaled like on other ships. Embarking and disembarking was very smooth. CocoCay’s Beach was a highlight. The water was warm, clear and there was ample snorkeling just on the beach. Our Nassau port excursion was a bust because of storms but the guest services staff gave us a partial reimbursement. I have been to Cocoa Beach several times, but we still had a great time. It’s always a great day on the beach at the ocean. I would book this cruise again. Read Less

Ship was well kept. Food in dining room was great. Plenty of activities for adults on cruise days. Cococay needs more shelters to block the rain. There was a teen area. Limited times for activities like flowrider, rock climbing, basketball court (balls collected at 10 PM), pools & hot tubs even closed early. 16 to 20 yr olds need more activities. Arcade had several games out of order. Entertainment was wonderful. Many excursions were sold out. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Ice cream/frozen yougurt machine only in one area and only one side opened, so lines at times were long, and it closed early too. The comedians were funny & it was nice that they both had “an adult only” sessions later in the evening as well. The large interactive signs were very helpful to locate rooms, activities and menus. I would recommend this cruise line to our family and friends! Read Less

This is our first cruise and we chose the Adventure of the Seas because it is close to home and we have always wanted to visit the ports that are visited by this cruise. We had a wonderful experience on this cruise with respect to their dining room services and their excellent foods. The dining room services are very good and its staff are very professional and attentive to our needs. Their cabin service personnel are also very friendly and efficient and provided excellent services. There are a variety of entertainment on board for various ages, and we really like their song and dance shows, their comedies, and its promenade. We found the cruise is well managed, planned, organized and executed. The embarkation and disembarkation process were very efficient and smooth. There were various off shore excursions available for the ports visited, but we didn't participate in these excursions, although we heard that they were excellent. Being independent minded, we did explore the cities on our own and found them to be interesting. The allowed times onshore were sufficient for visiting some of the interesting sites in these cities. We highly recommend this cruise, especially in the fall for the foliage. Read Less
