My family chose the cruise line and I'm glad they did. Adventure is a wonderful ship and has a great host of activities to take part in. The ports were exciting and I got to see things I had only had dreams of. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world. The food was really good and there were so many choices along with a variety of good drinks. Our cruise director and activities manager were exceptional and made our cruise the life of the water. This ship is a great choice for 1st timers and those who are cruise experienced. The dining room experience opened my eyes to different cultural outlooks and they were always polite. You have to go aboard to get your own experience versus going by someone else's opinion. I had a wonderful time during this cruise. I will definitely be planning another cruise with RCCL. Read Less

We chose this cruise as a family get together for the holidays. There were 10 of us in the party. My wife (7 cruises), myself (8), my son of 24 years(7), my daughter of 21 years (7), my wife's parents (3), my son's fiancee (2) and 3 of my daughter's friends (first time cruisers). We all had cabins on the 7th floor on the forward starboard side. Embarkation and disembarkation went extremely smooth with no issues. The agents were able to deal with a couple of issues for the young first-time cruisers and got us through without incident. It took us longer to park the vehicles than it did to get on the ship. Our last cruise was on an Oasis Class ship. We enjoyed this ship much better. It still had the mall, but most of the ship still had access to the ocean which I enjoy. My wife felt as if this ship was her favorite class. It offered many activities, but still didn't feel crowded. Our cabin was all the way forward on the ship and was an Oceanview stateroom. We loved the view from our window, but if you are do not like motion I would not recommend as the last night we had rough seas and my darling wife almost didn't make it. We ate every night in the Main Dining room. We find the meals there to be good. We find no pleasure in pay that much more for the extra dining options. We ate lunch everyday in the Windjammer and breakfast was split between MDR and Windjammer. We found all the choice as good as on land. Dining is still one of the highlights of our cruise. There have been some changes. Instead of being served bread by the assistant waiter, the bread is there waiting on you at the table. This didn't make that big of a difference for me. I went to the casino and gave a fair donation. I was also able to see a young lady win $13,000 so at least someone really liked the casino. Drink service was spotty around the ship at times. I sat at on venue listening to the musician. I was thinking I would purchase a drink before dinner, but was never approached for the 45 minutes I was there. We went to the ice show and we saw the hypnotist and really enjoyed both. We also enjoyed trivia and some of the late night parties and karaoke. We had as much fun on this cruise as any other we had been on. I still find it to be a great value for vacationing and getting away. Royal Caribbean gives you so many options for whatever kind of fun you are looking for that I find it hard to believe that you couldn't enjoy yourself. Read Less

This ship was very nice. Very friendly staff and with my son in a wheelchair was very accommodating! Our waiters, Sameer and Ikoman were superb! Would cruise again anytime on this ship! The cabin was spacious and my son was able to get around fine in his wheelchair. The cabin was right off from the elevator which made it easy for us to get where we wanted to go on the ship. There were no lifts into the pool or hot tubs which was a downfall but my son is a paraplegic and was able to transfer to the ledge of the hot tub and with some assistance get himself in. He never went in the pool but I believe he could have done the same as the hot tub. The ship was very in tune to germs - sinks to wash hands before dining in the main room and hand sanitizer everywhere. The excursions were great. Captain Marvins in Grand Cayman is excellent - lifted my son right into their boat in his wheelchair! We had an excellent cruise. Read Less

I talked a very hesitant friend and her husband into trying a cruise and decided my wife and I should go along. Glad we did. I should first describe my idea of a great cruise...really relaxed. Stayed at the Fortuna hotel pre cruise. Really neat little boutique hotel near the beach. Boarding was effortless. There was no line for Diamond and a short line for general boarding. On board in 10 minutes and a drink in hand. Love the drink package. Had a balcony cabin 7534 with plenty of room and quite comfortable for me. Explored the ship. Had not been on Adventure (although have also been on Navigator and Explorer). Love the ship and the peekaboo bridge. Pool bar was my favorite and Schooner was a close second. All on board meals in the Windjammer (don't like wearing long sleeve pants). No complaints about the food. There was a minor issue when the crew served dessert and plugged the entrance. Cabin service was attentive and no complaints. Requested a daily ice bucket and it was delivered. Labadee was Labadee. The buffet was fine and typical. Already paid drinks are great. Avoided the locals. San Juan is one of my favorite places. The forts weren't open for my friends and wife to see but we had a great hike along the old wall and 2 great meals in town. We were there from 1300-2100. Sint Maarten was up next. We went out to the airport by private cab. It was much more crowded than the last time we were there (likely would find other things to do next time) but it was fun for the first time friends. We stopped for a bit in town after the airport and had a good time strolling the boardwalk. Last port was St. Kitts. My wife and friends did a dolphin excursion while I wandered around the port and town. When they got back we hiked about 10 miles around town. Great fun. Finished with 2 great sea days. The production shows were ho hum. Game shows were fun. We're not late nights so didn't catch much after 2200 except Love and Marriage. Jogging track is a bit short. I went by time and no idea how many laps. The info says 8 laps to a mile (I showed closer to 9). All in all another great cruise on Royal and will definitely return. Stayed at Red Carpet Inn post cruise. Comfortable, ok accommodations. Read Less

We chose this cruise (only our second) based on 1) Price, 2) Sailing Date and 3) Ports of Call. Suffice to say that we were very pleased with our choice. Adventure of the Seas is a big ship, but not TOO big. Myself and my companion have different tastes in what we enjoy on a cruise. Me: sleeping in late, sauntering down to the pool at the crack of noon, having a frosty beverage or four, hot-tubbing, maybe (or maybe not) getting off at the ports, then finally waking up fully for the night-life, shows and the casino. Him: up at the crack of dawn, early breakfast, wandering the ship before it gets crowded, off at every port for shopping and sight-seeing, enjoying a huge dinner, then to bed after the early show + maybe a quick stop at the casino. This ship offered a great variety for both of us! I especially get a kick out of the poolside activities (line dancing, belly-flop competition, etc.) while he really enjoyed the ports....Labadee was his favorite. He is a savvy shopper and snagged some good pieces of art, clothing and a couple of watches in St. Martin and St. Kitts. Even in the dead of winter, these ports are a safe bet for good weather....in fact our only cloudy and somewhat unpleasant day was the last when we were closing in on Florida. Not sure if a Bahama or Bermuda trip would have satisfied our need for sun coming from cold upstate NY January deep freeze. Service was excellent all around and we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the overall cleanliness of the ship. Maybe they're faking it (as some suggest) but all of the crew we came in contact with seemed pleased to be working there and made it fun and enjoyable. It's not new, but it seemed well-preserved. There is plenty to do for every age group and plenty of places to enjoy some quiet if you wish. One quibble: we both wished that RC would have at least one sun deck with no piped-in music. It's a little too pervasive. Read Less

My husband and I went on this cruise for our honeymoon and we loved it so much we want to book another trip! We felt very pampered on this trip. The staff on this ship was amazing! The activity organizers were so much fun and there was so much to do on the ship that we were never bored. We played a lot of trivia each day and went to all the game shows. There was always someone there if you needed something on the ship and all the staff was very friendly. You did not even need to get off your but if you wanted a drink. There was always waiters walking around taking orders and bringing drinks. The ship was kept very clean. Our cabin was cleaned twice a day when we were at breakfast and dinner. There was always staff making sure that people washed their hands before entering the buffet. You never saw garbage around because they were always cleaning up and you often saw them scrubbing hand rails, menus, etc. Our room had lots of storage for all of our stuff. We had a balcony room that was very secluded from other balconies. The bed was so comfortable! We slept so good every single night. Our room was right next to the elevators which was great and the rooms were so quiet that you could not hear others in the rooms around you. The food was great. There was a large variety. Every meal in the dining room and specialty restaurants were three course meals. We thought they were very filling. We never went hungry on the ship because there was always something to eat. One of our favorite things was the breakfast food in the windjammer. The ports we went to seemed really safe and getting on and off the ship was simple and quick. We did one shore excursion through the ship and it was great! We would highly recommend the drink package if you are planning to drink. Beers on the ship cost $7 and almost all other drinks cost $12. The deluxe drink package includes as much bottled water you want and as much soda as you want. They have the CocaCola soda machines on the ship that have a variety of different options to choose from. They give you a souvenir cup to use on the machines. Without the drink package the only thing you can get for free on the ship is glasses of water, juice, tea, and coffee from the buffet. Almost all the drinks are $12 or less so they are covered under the drink package. This is for the specialty restaurants too. The only things not covered are Starbucks and some of the more expensive wines. Since we were on our honeymoon the crew gave us a card and left chocolate covered strawberries in our room. We both got $50 gift cards to the Spa as well. We loved that there was an adult only pool area as we were on our honeymoon and did not want to be bothered by children. We would definitely go on this cruise ship again. We chose to take our luggage off the ship on the last day ourselves and we were glad we did because that meant we could get off the ship first. The only thing that was hard for us was finding our airport transfer that we set up before the trip. There was not very good signage for this. There were people standing around that we could ask. We vacationed on Adventure of the Seas as part of a Make A Wish experience and what an experience we had. The crew and the ship were nothing short of fantastic. My wife and I had been fortunate enough to go on 4 previous cruises and never had brought our 3 children. We are so happy that we were able to and that our kids were able to experience the Caribbean. Our handicapped son was also able to get around quite easily in his wheelchair and that was a relief. My wife had a handicapped accessible room (1814) and it met any requirement that was needed. Our 2 other children aged 10 and 12 had an absolute blast. They wore out the mini golf course on sea days and got to experience the huge waterslide and Flowrider as well. We were a bit worried they would be bored and they were far from that. There were always activities for them to do and they were very comfortable moving around the ship and going where they wanted to go. DINING - My wife typically took our two youngest to the Sapphire Restaurant for sit down dining and they raved about the experience. The food was quite good and the portions were perfect sized. I usually went to the Windjammer buffet area with our oldest, handicapped son (15) and it was very easy to navigate with him in his wheelchair. The food was great. I have absolutely zero complaints about it. Selection was great. If you are a Curry fan then you will be happy. Dessert selection looked great. Breakfast was awesome as well and make sure to get a Bloody Mary or Screwdriver from Howie as you enter the restaurant. He gets there around 7:30 am ENTERTAINMENT - We enjoyed a show at the ice rink and it was quite good as well. The skating was good and my oldest enjoys a lot of visual lights and there was plenty of that. The magician and other theater shows were well done as well and the children enjoyed them a lot and talked about them repeatedly. Highly recommend the ice show. SERVICE - Traveling with a handicapped son, SERVICE is very important to us. The Adventure of the Seas had tremendous service and the entire staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating with him. Again, there is nothing to complain about with the service. The Sky Bar staff is awesome as are the staff in all of the dining areas. PORTS.... GRAND CAYMAN - This was our first port and we were very excited to visit it. My wife and I had not been to Western Caribbean on previous cruises so this was on our bucket list. We did the Stingray Excursion and it was worth it. The only drawback was that the water was a little choppy and the crew of the excursion indicated it was not normal to have seas that choppy. That is being a little nit picky to complain about that. The excursion itself is pretty awesome. My family enjoyed it and it is quite an experience to be holding stingrays. The waves did make it difficult to get on the excursion boat though. By the end of it there were close to 50-100 swimming around and it was worth it. The port itself/town of Georgetown is really clean and nice. If shopping is your thing this is the place to go. It is a very busy place and people need to remember that. We ate a place called PARADISE and it was awesome. It sat on the water and the staff were awesome with our kids. Order the Conch salad or chowder. Super delicious. Another tidbit is you can snorkel right off the pier/main road of town. It is free and there were large fish swimming right there. Unfortunately we were too tired after lunch and did not, but there were 15-20 people and it is a big area. I wish we would have done that. COSTA MAYA- This port is designed for cruisers. It has a lot of shops. We ate lunch at a Taco Stand and it was good. Everything there is a little overpriced though. Keep that in mind. Apparently if you get out of the port there are some good excursions, but none of them were real great for a handicapped child. If it was just us as a couple, we definitely would have done an excursion. We spent a couple hours at the lazy river pool and ordered a couple "La Yardas" while the kids were in the lazy river and relaxed. Weather was great. We had no problem finding chairs or place to sit. The dolphin pool was fun to watch and sneak a couple of pictures if you can. Also, watch the "Birdmen" show. Definitely worth the time to do it. COZUMEL - This was our favorite port by far. We were there on a day that there were only 3 cruise ships total and the locals were saying it was common to get 6-9 ships on a given day. The terminal area is fun with shops, restaurants, etc.... One could literally spend the entire day just at that area, but I would not recommend that. We went to the main shopping area to grab souvenirs and ate at PANCHO's. Souvenirs at the main shopping area were a third of the price as in Costa Maya and seemed way, way more authentic. At PANCHO's we had a waiter named Mario that was extremely friendly. We sampled just about everything on the menu it seemed like and it was great. They had a couple playing music and they let my daughter join them. Definitely get Guacamole and a Margarita here. Top notch stuff. Our waiter told us to go to Playa Azul to snorkel. It is a quick cab ride up the road. He mentioned that they would just want us to order a drink or an appetizer and all would be good. It is a very small beach and it is attached to a couple condo buildings and it was perfect. We had no problem finding beach chairs and there is plenty of shade and covered area. There is also a long dock/pier with a ladder to get in the water. You are also able to use the pool area if need be. Very quiet place and cannot thank Mario enough for recommending. It was perfect for our family and our handicapped son sat in the shallow water and loved every second of it. HIGHLY recommend going to PLAYA AZUL. A taxi driver indicated to us that some of the main beaches/parks charge $20 per person to get be able to utilize the beach. We were not going to spend $100 and were so lucky we found PLAYA AZUL. This was our favorite day of the trip and the kids loved it. Read Less

We took this cruise with a large church group. We have been on 7 cruises, all with Royal Caribbean, but this was our first trip on this ship. We really enjoyed this ship since it is similar to Independence of the seas that we were on last year. We were amazed with how large our room and balcony (jr suite 1100) were. We were concerned with the location of the room since it is right next to the fitness center treadmills, but we had no problems with the sound. The only time we could hear the treadmills was if we were in the closet. We couldn't hear it in the room with the door closed. We were also concerned about the room location since it is high and close to the front, but we had smooth seas, so no problem with seasickness. The only ship entertainment we went to was the ice show and we thoroughly enjoyed that. We had great service at the dining room. The food was delicious at the dining room and the windjammer. This ship has Freestyle Coke machines, which I wish I had known before we went. I would have paid for the drink package just for those wonderful drinks. The only slight negative was the lack of cleanliness in the floors of the hallways, stairways and elevators. We never saw anyone vacuuming, and those areas really showed it. We really enjoyed the peek a boo bridge that is on deck 11 of this ship. We have not seen that on any other sailing we've been on. It was closed a couple of times we wanted to go on it, but only at super windy times. Read Less

We've been on 6 previous cruises and this was our first with Royal. First of all every cruise member was friendly and welcoming. Our dinner waiters Jorge and Garamar were the best we've ever had!!! I can't say enough good things about them! There were 6 of us in our group and we all agreed we've never been treated so well. The food was great! There was only one night when I just didn't care for the fish but it was replaced right away! Breakfast was very good and it is much easier in the dining room than the Wind Jammer. Too crowded in the morning there esp on port days. Lunch was also good in the dining room. The Windjammer food is good too, just too many folks all wanting the same thing. Loved the Washy Washy Ladies! They would stand there every day and see that folks used sanitizer or washing their hands. We had a balcony cabin #7632 and it was very comfortable and quiet. It was not very far to the elevators and library. We enjoyed everything the ship had to offer. Was surprised there wasn't more shopping options onboard as other ships we've been on (Princess and Carnival). We enjoyed the ports of St. Martin, St. Kitts, Labadee, and San Juan. Weather was perfect. Our only complaint was the long, long wait to get off the ship. We were told there were only 3 Customs agents working (also people would not wait until their numbers were called) and that also slowed things up. Wasn't in a hurry to get off the ship but sitting on deck rather than the chilly ice skating rink for a couple of hours would have been better. Overall loved this cruise and wish I was on another right now! Read Less
