We flew to San Juan the night before our cruise and used HiltonHonors points to stay at the Caribe Hilton. Convenient, clean, worked out fine. We left for the pier about noon. There was a long line, but special treatment for Crown & Anchor members and suite passengers got us onboard in about 30 minutes. We went to the windjammer and had lunch. Embarkation was strange -- you had to stand in line to check your luggage which took about a half hour. Then you had to get in another line for security clearance to get into the terminal -- another 15 minutes. Then you got your cruise cards, approved credit card, etc., which took only about 5 minutes. To start off, a word to the wise. We book a pre night stay in San Juan at the Miramar 10 months in advance. We booked 4 rooms and had confirmation for them. When we got to the hotel, we were surprised to find out we had NO rooms, and they pawned us off on some cheap discount hotel around the corner. It was a complete disaster.
