Insolvent of the Seas

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

This cruise was taken during the Northeast school vacation 2/15-2/22/09. We had our two children ages 13/11 with us and had cabins directly across from each other on deck 9. We traveled from MA on our own airline arrangements. We took this same cruise 4-5 years ago so I could really compare and contrast. Arrival/embarkation day was uneventful for the most part. Arrived at the pier ...

Boarding the ship was very quick and painless. We arrived at 11:15am and were on board by noon. We toured around the ship showing our family the highlights and then went to the Windjammer for lunch. The food was very good, just like last year. The shows throughout the cruise were all very good but most were the same as last year. We thought Mike S from last year was a better cruise ...

My husband and I, along with my mother, and my sister, her husband, and her 12 year old son sailed on the Adventure of the Seas on Feb. 15 from San Juan. We had a fantastic time! Overall, I thought the ship was beautiful, the crew was wonderful, the food was good, and the shows were outstanding! We all arrived in San Juan a day before sailing. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in the ...

We chose to book our own airfare and pre-cruise hotel in San Juan. The city is cruiser-friendly and it is very easy to get a cab to the pier or back to the airport at the end of the trip. Our time on Adventure of the Seas was just perfect. The Promenade is wonderful, with great snacks, pizza, coffee, shops, etc. The buffet dining area has really great food, a clean environment, and very ...

We left Michigan and its freezing winter behind on Saturday morning and headed for San Juan. We arrived a day early for our cruise and spent the night at the Comfort Inn. The hotel was decent, nothing spectacular, but adequate. We ate at Chilli's and I wouldn't recommend that place. It took us about two hours for dinner - the service was awful. We arrived at the pier about noon the next ...

We spent the night before the cruise at the Embassy Suites near the airport. It was clean and comfortable, convenient and reasonably priced. We arrived Sunday morning at about 11:30 AM and checked our bags curbside. We were admitted at noon and were fully checked in and headed onboard in about 10 minutes. we found it to be very organized and efficient. The ship is beautiful and the room ...

BACKGROUND: My DH and I sailed with 4 other couples. All of us have cruised many times in the past. We usually pick newer ships but decided to give AOS a try because of the itinerary and price. We are all 60ish and enjoy assigned seating. We all have cruised NCL, Carnival, Princess and Celebrity as well as RCL's Serenade of the Seas and Mariner in the past. My husband and I were on the new NCL ...

BACKGROUND: Myself, DH and 8 others flew to PR the same day. We are all between the ages of 50ish and 60ish and full of fun! We have all cruised before on Carnival, RCL, Princess, NCL and Celebrity. We usually go a day before but didn't this time. The plane was about 45 min late in leaving which made us all stressed! Never again will we fly down the same day. We were concerned because the ship was ...

So my DH and I we're celebrating our birthdays and my sister came along with us for the cruise and help me celebrate a milestone birthday. As I said before, for the past ten years we've been cruising with Carnival; although I have also travelled on Radisson (now Regent) to Tahiti, and Holland American (Caribbean), and previous cruises on RC (Alaska, Caribbean) with other family members during ...

San Juan: In order to avoid the risks associated with winter weather in Canada we flew to San Juan on Friday (no stress, no mess). We stayed two nights at the Embassy Suites in Dorado Del Mar which is about 30 minutes west of San Juan. I highly recommend this particular Embassy Suites location (see later that this location is not to be confused with the San Juan location) a)at $125 an ...
