Not Spectacular on Summit

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Celebrity Summit

This was our 20th Celebrity cruise, we are Elite Plus Captain's Club members and this was probably one of our most disappointing Celebrity cruises. Overall the food and service was not nearly as good as in the past and also the lack of enforcement of dress code in the Main Dining Room as well as Captain Club events really put a sour taste in our mouths. My husband and I like the ...

Not a "dining delight"

First of all - the food, because Celebrity has always been known for the excellent dining. My family has been on 9 cruises, with five different cruise-lines. We sailed with Celebrity ten years ago ...and there has been a huge change in the food quality. The buffet is now a sad comparison to the "old days." Breakfast is very limited and the hot dishes were only luke-warm. If you prefer a ...

Celebrity Summit to Bermuda 5/17/15 "Best Cruise"

Our cruise on the Celebrity Summit was fantastic. The only thing that could have made it better was if it were longer. This was our 30th cruise overall but our very first with Celebrity. In the past few years we have made it a point to try new lines and ports. We were very glad that we did. Coming from Buffalo, Bayonne is geographically the closest port to us and we have enjoyed using it for ...

Best Ever Cruise!

I always say best cruise ever, but then I've never had a bad cruise. We traveled b2b, the first segment being with friends and the second by ourselves. We ate dinner with our friends each night in Cosmopolitan Restaurant the first week (Luminae for delicious breakfasts), and the second week, we mostly ate at Luminae. Luminae, which is new to the fleet, is marvelous. We were very impressed with ...

Why I love Celebrity and Bermuda.

This was our third trip to Bermuda and we loved every minute of it. We had a room with a veranda on the starboard side and were treated to a great view of the island and the beautiful welcoming wharf. The people of Bermuda are as friendly and welcoming as those aboard the ship. Isn't that why people love to travel to Bermuda? And it is for that same reason we love Celebrity. The ship is ...

This is the third year in a row that we have taken this cruise to Bermuda. Obviously we enjoy it and this year was no exception. We are able to drive to the port and take advantage of the parking. Embarkation was smooth and fast, and we were very impressed with the new port design. It's great not to have to hop on the bus transport to get out to the ship as you had to in the past. The Summit ...

I have taken a few cruises on Celebrity before this cruise on the Summit. My overall impression is that Celebrity is still good but they have cut back on many items. They care more about and care more for the Aqua Class and above people. The main dining room is still good but the portions are smaller and the staff has been reduced so they work much harder. The coffee in the buffet is not ...

Frustrated

I just came back from this cruise. It was my first cruise and I was frustrated. Bermuda was beautiful and the ship staff was great! The ship itself is very clean but needs a little updating. The dining room food was good and while portions were small you could get as many dinners as you wanted. The Ocean View Cafe where we ate the rest of the meals was okay at best! Long lines and food was ...

First Celebrity Cruise - Definitely Won't Be Our Last!

We were very happy with Celebrity and the Summit. Although she is an older ship, there were no real issues with the age. If you look, you will easily find signs of rust, cracked tiles, etc, but in no way did it detract from our enjoyment of our Bermuda cruise. Embarkation in Bayonne was a breeze, and the easiest and quickest embarkation we have ever encountered. (Debarkation was just as ...

Celebrity Summit May 3 to 10 to Bermuda, Great Cruise!

This was my first cruise on Celebrity. I have cruised many times on NCL (platinum status) and on Carnival. I was very impressed with Celebrity. Since I live in New Jersey, using the port in Bayonne was very convenient and parking was much cheaper than NYC. I found the ship to be very clean, as was my stateroom. I found the staff in all areas of the ship to be very friendly and helpful. My waiters ...
