Southern Alaska Cruise - what makes this different.

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

Southern Alaska cruise, stopping in Sitka, Juneau and Ketchikan, departing from Vancouver. I've been on over a dozen cruises, this was my 6th RCL cruise (also cruised with Carnival, Holland America and NCL). Before this cruise, they have all been Carribean cruises. Note that while I'll point out some shortcomings, I strongly believe that there is no such thing as a bad cruise - it's all about ...

We were a party of 9. 2 seniors, DH and myself, both with mobility issues, from northeast Ohio. This was our 15th cruise, 3rd on Royal, 3rd to Alaska. One professional couple, mid-late 50's, from the DC area, Diamond on Royal, 4th time in Alaska. One family group, parents mid 40's, 3 kids ages 12, 10, and 8, from the Bay Area. This was the second cruise for our daughter, 2nd to Alaska, 1st ...

600 Kids on a Ship of 2,500 Passengers - not what I wanted?

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

This ship was old & the rooms weren't very nice? - need some major upgrades! - the sink in our cabin was awful? - they offered to move us but the next cabin - the sink was not much better? - so we just stayed where we were! There were way too many kids - as I mentioned 600 on a ship of 2,500 passengers - but I guess that's because "Royal Caribbean" is more Family Oriented!? - I am "Elite" with ...

I dream about the glacier in Alaska since a long time ago, what a beautiful view when we see from the sea. Trip to Alaska was my dream come true, with Brilliance of the Seas. Imagine you woke up in the morning then we saw the beautiful glaciers in front of your room. What a beautiful view! The cruise ship was an amazing trip. You are really in vacation. A great services, the delicious dining, ...

Exceed Expectations

Booked this cruise to take a large family on an Alaskan Cruise. When choosing which ship to pick, we chose the Brilliance because it is smaller and can get closer to the glaciers. We were somewhat reluctant to pick the Brilliance due to its age. We had sailed on it in 2019 and knew it was probably getting a little old. Well, I'll just say, the ship may be an older ship, but the maintenance ...

Friendly staff, interesting ports and great weather made for a fabulous holiday!

We chose this cruise because of the ports of call and weren’t disappointed. I love this size of ship, not overly crowded (except the elevators occasionally when everyone is trying to go to the same place at the same time). The staff (and most of the guests) seemed happy and were friendly. We also enjoyed all the entertainment around the ship. The headliner shows were fabulous and quality ...

Loved Alaska RC Ship was a disappointment

Alaska itself was absolutely breathtaking.. we loved every shore excursion we took. However, we were very disappointed in the ship, the food and the customer service. ( I should say lack of customer service.) I will say that our suite was larger than we expected, and we absolutely adored our cabin stewardess she was amazing. Having sailed on other cruise lines where are used to a certain level ...

If I could give less of a review I would!!

The sheets had holes! The curtains were stained! The food gave me food poisoning! Extremely understaffed! I asked for a refund on my gratuities and they confirmed on board that I would. I have been on the phone with them for a full hour and all they could say is “Sorry no, we already paid the workers.” This would be an improper charge if they said they would give me a refund but ...

We had a great time on our 7 night Alaska cruise on the Brilliance. This cruise left from Vancouver and went to Sitka, Juneau, Skagway & Haines and Tracy Arms Fiord. We planned on flying in a couple days earlier but due to my work we flew into Seattle the day before and did some sightseeing and then took the Flixbus to Vancouver to meet ours friends who were joining us on this cruise. Flying ...

This first time experience was phenomenal. My family and I dined in the Minstrel Dining Room and Windjammer Buffet and the food did not disappoint. Special thanks to our waiters Jose and Pawan for entertaining us even while serving, and for not making it dull. The “washy washy” lady as well, and the Romanian head waiter. Mahdi, for showing support and care for us even though we’re only strangers. ...
