This was a vacation of a lifetime for us. This being only or second cruise we really didn't have anything to compare it as the first was was 25 years ago but RCI did a wonderful job and we couldn't be happier. From the time we boarded to the time we left Brilliance we felt very welcomed and at home.
We ate at Chops Grill the first night and the service and food were excellent. For breakfast ...
We chose this cruise as I had cruised with RCI on five previous occasions and never had cause to complain. Unfortunately I found this particular cruise fell short of the standards previously experienced on Majesty, Navigator, Adventure and Empress of the seas. The ship looks as though it is in need of a makeover on close inspection. Overall I was disappointed in the drop in standard of the dress ...
Staff were lovely - friendly but professional and really helpful. Food in the main dining restaurant was good with a varied selection and always well cooked and presented. As ever on cruises the veg was lacking and under-cooked.
The speciality restaurants were generally only half full probably as they are overpriced. Chop's Grill was particularly good and we dines there 3 times. ...
My husband was looking forward to this trip for a long time and booked it for our family. I felt so sorry for him because it was a huge disappointment.
Let's begin with packing for the trip. The literature from the cruise line said that there was a dress code for dinner. Casual. ( Specified that shorts were not allowed in the main dining rooms ever for anyone) Smart casual. Dress ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary, having relatively low expectations for the ship, especially being an older and smaller ship.
Embarkation/ Disembarkation: We spent a few days in Barcelona to start and were at the port before 11 am. There was virtually no line and we were on the ship within minutes. There are a couple of duty free shops in port post-security where you can buy water, ...
I booked the cruise as my wife wanted to visit Venice which was one of the ports of call. I booked with Royal Caribbean as it was a well known cruise line, I thought it would be a wise decision. After booking, my wife looked at cruise reviews (which i never thought to do ) and read quite a few poor reviews for Brilliance of the Seas. Before we embarked we were not looking forward to it that ...
Our cruise was especially nice because of the people we shared it with. We had done this sailing twice before with some slight differences in ports. Overall, we loved the destinations. We would have rather gone to Croatia than Montenegro....but we still had a nice time. We booked private tours for most ports. They were all wonderful, without exception. We like the personal information and ...
We chose this cruise because of its itinerary - 7 ports in 12 days and not because we were expecting a fine dining or 5 star entertainment. Don't get me wrong, the dining and entertainment were fine and I would do it again in a heart beat. The ports were fantastic but be warned - if you are interested in doing excursions, you need to have stamina. The days are long but worth every effort. ...
We selected Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas for the 12-night Mediterranean Cruise because of the destinations. Unfortunately, by the time we were able to book, the only available cabin for our family of 5 was the Family Stateroom, Cabin 7004. We were assured by the agent booking the cruise that the stateroom “comfortably sleeps 6”. The Royal Caribbean website states, “Two twin beds that ...
First the ship. Dated and showing wear. The decor needs to be updated and the furnishings in the public spaces and staterooms are old.
Food. Minstral dining room menus is ok, nothng fancy, cheaper, no lobster anymore. Often skipped to go to Windjammer that had same menu items every night as main dining. Other food areas closed early. Snacks hard to find and very limited. No more burger stands ...
