Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

First let me say that we have cruised on Royal Caribbean for 12 of our 15 trips and think that they have a pretty good product. It has been about 3 years since traveling with Royal and some of the venue's have appeared to have slipped some in quality. OVERALL: The staff is still very friendly and eager to offer their best effort in the most part. There are a few folks that make a minor ...

First Royal Caribbean Cruise n several years. Ship was immaculate, modern, comfortable. Embarkation efficient and organized. Room was comfortable and well maintained (terrific shower). Health club was one of the best I've been in - especially the instructors/trainers (free). Entertainment fair, but not the caliber of prior years. BEST of the trip was the Ice Show - best Ice Show I've ...

As far as great value and a great cruise experience - You can't beat Royal Caribbean. We have sailed many times with them and enjoy the friendliness and genuine desire of the staff to be helpful and solve any issues you may have. We will be sailing again with them soon. We also love the Celebrity and Azamara lines of the Royal Caribbean Fleet. This time, we were part of a Group of 64 ...

For some reason, I couldn't find this review. Maybe I forgot to post it. Embarkation - Grade F 5:00 PM Embarkation! Long lines, rudeness from security, because no one knew anything. Husband tripped over a sign and fell. Left email and cell phone on cruise check-in profile, but RCI contacted us via home phone (600 miles away). Didn't hear "Priority Boarding" announcement, but followed ...

We cruised on the Mariner January of 2011 and had such a wonderful time that we booked this cruise while we were on the ship. We flew from Denver to Houston Hobby Airport on Southwest and used Z Limousine to transfer to Galveston. Z Limousine was great and is highly recommended. We stayed at the Tremont House which is a nice boutique hotel in the heart of the Strand. Very nice for short term, ...

A really fun cruise to keep our holidays going! Despite a long fog delay in Galveston(we got to watch the playoffs due to this), we got off in a safe journey to Mexico. We had 14 pp in our family party and the ship accommodated just fine. Paul Rudder, the cruise director was really great(and corny). All the shows and comedians were fun. Ice skating was a huge hit with the kids. Being in ...

This is the largest of the 17 cruise ships we have sailed on. Passenger capacity is 3,114, double occupancy. There were only a few vacant cabins on our cruise. There is an international staff and crew of 1,185. I was concerned that the large number of people would cause lines most everywhere. I was wrong. We booked a D-2 balcony cabin and were very satisifed with the layout and ...

I couldn't wait to get on the boat. It had been many years since my last cruise, and the fact that I was so close I could see the captain in the bridge from the shore made me all the more annoyed that I couldn't get on the boat for another three hours. My family and I had chosen to go on a cruise over Christmas with the recent passing of our father. We decided Christmas at home would be too ...

A Ruined Christmas

I'll preface all this by saying I didn't particularly want to take this cruise. Christmas away from home sounds (and is) depressing. But the in-laws wanted to take the cruise. They're both walker-bound and it was their 50th anniversary, so I had to take one for the team. I tried, honestly, to keep a positive outlook. I kept hearing I'd be treated like royalty and all about how magnificent the ...

Embarkation, as most have heard was delayed until 3:30 P.M. We always like to arrive early, so we were happy to have a place to sit until we could board the ship. We were not upset with the cruise line because they were doing their best to get the ship safe for us. What I thought they could have offered us was something to eat and more chairs. We took the time to meet some new people and ...
