Route: 58 days round trip Fort Lauderdale including 21 ports of call, passage through the Panama Canal, rounding Cape Horn, and scenic cruising around Devil’s Island. Total trip 17,591 nautical miles.
1. General Comments: We are regular cruisers, and our focus of this cruise was to get an overview of the South American continent. This cruise showed us that further visits are needed. Five ...
My sister and I chose this cruise because it was stopping at places we had never been to before and we wanted to see the old locks of the Panama Canal. It most definitely will be a cruise we will not forget! I can't believe how much the world changed in the 10 days we were gone! I asked my doctor if it was safe to go and he said yes when I told him the itinerary.
Well, everything went well ...
After reading reviews for a few months ahead of our first cruise with Princess, I thought I would post about my personal experience.
Island Princess, Christmas in the Panama Canal . A bucket list tick cruise for many. One of the smaller princess ships, built in 2003, remodelled in 2015.
Boarding was flawless. We left our Fort Lauderdale hotel at 11am by cab. We were ordering coffee onboard ...
We recently returned from a 10-day cruise to the Panama Canal on the Island Princess. There were several things that made this cruise special – a Birthday celebration, getting together with over 38 family members/friends, and just the opportunity to spend Christmas on the high seas. However, without the overall excellent service provided by the staff the trip wouldn’t have been as wonderful as it ...
I could not resist the rates on this 4 day cruise to achieve Elite status. Settled into a cabin on PR deck aft. Loved the location close to exit doors directly onto Promaneade deck. First time on this ship since 2013, and the refit. Really missed the full PR deck. It was almost as though I had never cruised this ship before, Explorers Lounge - gone. All kids' clubs are now aft, along with ...
This was a quick cruise with 1 port - Amber Cove. The Island Princess was a beautiful ship, decorated everywhere for Christmas and the crew was fantastic everywhere we turned.
The ship...
The ship was in wonderful condition...the only imperfection I noticed was in our stateroom where they had obviously changed out artwork on a wall for a wall mounted large flatscreen TV....you can still see ...
Wanted to fit in a cruise to a warm place before the holidays, the itinerary and length fit the bill. Island Princess is showing its wear in some places (furniture in public places a bit worn) but is still a nice ship with most of the amenities. The Broadway style shows were flashy and stunning, enjoyed the premier of "Secret Silk". Only got to a couple of get togethers -- Learn Spanish, ...
Took a Panama Canal cruise on the Island Princess over Thanksgiving week. Embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze (used Princess transfers). Despite the small size of the older ship, we were pleasantly surprised with the amount of activities and how much was tucked into small spaces, where there were 4 days at sea on the 10 day cruise. Definitely older ship, but turned out that we felt less ...
We just returned from our 10 night Panama Canal cruise on the Island Pacific. Overall, we give the cruise a 4 star rating since 3.5 is not available.
First, and most importantly, this itinerary and time of year will not give you a ship full of energy. The average age of our fellow passengers was about 75. There were many canes and walkers and for the most part, the public areas of the ship ...
We wanted to experience the locks at the Panama Canal,. and to see a part of the world we had never visited.
We booked a mini-suite for the first time, and we really enjoyed having the extra space. We had four sea days, so we were in the room more often than on other cruises.
We had Club Dining on this cruise, and were very pleased with the service. It was nice to have the same efficient ...
