RCCL has disappointed us for a very special trip. If not for the Islands, the friends we made on board and some of the staff, this would be rated the lowest rating.
I'll start with the good:
1) Cafe Latitudes- the BEST! (Better than Starbucks- in fact, we had Starbucks the day after and though it was horrid compared to the Caramel Macchiato on the ship!)
2) Not hearing loud speaker ...
A nice way to have several days at sea and experience great Islands. The covered Solarium is great and has a nice small eating area for breakfast or lunch. Unfortunately the food has gone down hill. No Prime Rib was offered on the dinner menu. We ended up eating 2 or 3 Appetizers instead of an Entree several nights. This was our 3rd cruise on Serenade. Altogether I have cruised 89 ...
We chose this cruise mas my wife is a California girl who has never been to the East coast or the Caribbean. We spent a week in New England and then got on the ship in Boston. The food was absolutely terrible. The specialty restaurants especially Chops were good. The food on the cruise was so poor that you were forced to the specialty restaurants and it appeared that my have been the plan. ...
RCL is pushing hard to specialty restaurants dining just to made more money. plus they can cut even more staff. MDR is serving less entree's and poorer quality. Windjammer is better food but the same food everyday. Bright spot of cruise is the staff from the Captain down are 5 star. Please remember that your servers, waiters, bartenders and room attendant do not get paid very much, so please tip ...
The second day at sea I had not heard where the Cruise Critic meet up was to be so I checked with the guest services and was told it had already happened and they gave me to note. They would note that I was missed on the distribution. Sorry to have missed seeing any of you that did attend.
My stateroom was what I expected and served my needs well. Attendant was excellent.
The ship is good ...
This was our 2nd RCCI cruise. Last year we did the Brilliance Repositioning Cruise and had such a fantastic time that we decided to repeat our experience. The Radiance class ships are beautiful and for us, the perfect size.
We like the longer cruises and really love our days at sea. We live on Cape Cod, so we also love leaving from Boston. Driving to Boston on a Sunday is a quick trip ...
We chose this cruise because of friends that were also booked. If not for these friends and new ones we met it would be hard to find many positive comments other than the crew members.
The flight to Boston was a breeze as was the taxi to the ship. To the best of my recollection check-in and boarding went smoothly. I recall seeing rust and paint bubbled as we walked along the deck to get inside ...
We prefer re-positioning cruises for their normally unique itineraries and they are normally more than the standard 7 day adventures. This cruise embarkation was in Boston which is only an hour flight from Toronto so we could fly out and board the same day.
Boarding was a little hectic but manageable. Disembarking in Fort Lauderdale was a completely different story and probably the worst ...
This was the annual repositioning cruise of whatever Radiance class ship is sailing the Boston - Canadian Maritimes route - this year the Serenade. The cruise leaves Boston and then spends 12 days doing a southern Caribbean cruise before winding up in its Florida winter port - Ft Lauderdale this year.
I am a Pinnacle member of RCI and sail with them frequently as RCI is one of the only lines ...
My hubby and I went to Alaska in June of 2004 on Serenade of the Seas. We thought it was a beautiful ship and after 25 other cruises decided to go to Canada/New England on the Serenade.
We flew into Boston day of the cruise because motel rooms were so high. The taxi to the port was less than $25.00 and took less than 15 minutes. Because we were platinum, our wait in line was less than 5 ...
