For my husband and I this was our second trip with RCI to Maine and Canada out of Boston. Last year we took the Brilliance of the Seas and were lucky with a once time only 9 day cruise that included three more stops than this year. Rockland in Maine, Charlottetown PEI, and Sydney in New Brunswick. I would take that one again if they offered it. This time we were on the Serenade for 7 days ...
My hubby and I went to Alaska in June of 2004 on Serenade of the Seas. We thought it was a beautiful ship and after 25 other cruises decided to go to Canada/New England on the Serenade.
We flew into Boston day of the cruise because motel rooms were so high. The taxi to the port was less than $25.00 and took less than 15 minutes. Because we were platinum, our wait in line was less than 5 ...
The boarding process was efficient. Our room steward was fantastic. Our servers in the dining room were fantastic.
The food ranged from mediocre to deplorable. The very limited entertainment was amateur and below average. The technology is antiquated. The Captain runs his mouth too much. The Cruise Director has lost touch with the people who sale Royal Caribbean. Both the Captain and ...
Boston. History aplenty. Welcoming. Our Back Bay pre-cruise stay at the Lenox Hotel was excellent. Good walking/shopping area in the immediate vicinity.
Cruise Port facilities were fine - our first impressions were favorable. Security and boarding took close to 30 minutes - very reasonable.
It turns out the port is close to the airport. With little Sunday morning traffic we made it ...
I am a fan of Skagen wristwatches from Denmark. I was excited when I saw them displayed in the duty-free department, and planned to buy one on the discount night. The Royal Caribbean "duty-free" price was $185 less a 10% discount on sale day. The watch I wanted sells for $145 at Macy's in Portland, Maine all day, every day of the week. The Royal Caribbean price wasn't even "duty-free." What a joke ...
This was our 11th cruise we picked this trip because it was the northeastern, embarkation was a breeze, disembarkation went pretty well.
The cabin was good we get balcony that way we can sit out and enjoy the views.
The entertainment was ok Norwegian epic was better.
Food at sit down and buffet very average, when you have pancakes and you can not cut them. Rita's canteen was poor steak ...
My husband and I just returned from our cruise to Maine and Canada. We're from the Boston area, so we weren't traveling as much for the ports as for the cruise experience. This was our fifth RCI cruise, the second on a Radiance Class ship. We love the moderate size of this class, and we don't need all the "bells and whistles" of the larger, newer ships.
We stayed in an ocean-view cabin, feeling ...
My husband and I chose this cruise because we wanted to leave from our home port of Boston (much as we did with our previous cruise to Bermuda on Norwegian). I've been on one additional cruise, also on RCI, to Alaska, about ten years ago. We're both in our thirties and were some of the youngest passengers on the ship by far (which amused but didn't bother us). There were very few children and they ...
We chose this cruise so we could view the Fall colors and visit Canada. We did see beautiful foliage and enjoyed visiting the ports of call in Canada. We flew into Boston two days early so we could experience the city of Boston. We had a private tour and thoroughly enjoyed the day we spent with him. He was so knowledgeable and willing to let us decide what we wanted to do. Both embarkation ...
We chose this cruise because we had not been on this itinerary before and it seemed like a good alternative to the Caribbean. When we first booked the cruise, over 1 year before sailing, our travel agent told us that the only option for dining was my time dining. When we met with our travel agent he asked us which seating we had chosen and explained that he had earlier told us that there was no ...
