Doesn't Compare to Our Previous Cruises

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

There were so many situations I am sure I won't remember them all. The staff seemed untrained, although there was improvement as the cruise progressed. The first night the dishwasher was malfunctioning creating a screeching noise the entire meal. The food was good, but not impressive, as on our other cruises. There seemed to be less variety in the restaurants than on the other cruises we have ...

We have now been on five cruises with Norwegian and have enjoyed all of them. We visited some really interesting places on this cruise, and the excursions (all booked through Norwegian) were excellent. The downside to this was the Spirit. It was very dated. Most of the speciality restaurants didn't have windows looking out onto the sea, most other ships did. Our suite was shabby, and the ...

Excellent cruise; ports of call won us over.

We enjoyed a superb 12 day Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to Venice on the NCL Spirit in Sep 2015. We had been planning to take this type of cruise for over 5 years for a 40th anniversary and two things caused NCL to win over the competition: - The ports of call, and 12 days vs 7 gave us a broad coverage over the entire Med area vs just a Western or Eastern focused 7 day cruise. - The ...

This was my 4th NCL cruise and 8th cruise in total. We have preferred NCL because of a fantastic experience we had on our first cruise, 2007, including exceptional service, great food, great destinations and great cabins. Sadly, with each cruise we have become more and more disappointed. We usually book 2 suites to accommodate our large family and this comes with a butler/concierge. On our ...

Tired Ship

We have been on loads of cruises with most of the Cruise Companies. This is the worst ship we have been on. My wife follows a particular diet and we had real difficulty with the staff in getting her food needs correctly met. On the first night we were told that there was no chef available to cook my wife some simple pasta with tomato sauce and that we should have "pre-ordered". They did not ...

Disappointing

The shop is looking tired needs refurbishment in the lounges. Food more enjoyable if using the Bistro and specialist dining options. Entertainment weak. The singing was screeching and the productions amateurish. Had seen the tribute band Beatles on my last NCL cruise. Very disappointed to know postcards that I had purchased on board and paid stamp duty for have never arrived. One posted in ...

Loved the destination, the ship was really secondary to the trip.

The Classic Mediterranean itinerary was the deciding factor for us. The ship is older, but acceptable. The cabin crew were great, and kept things tidy. More than once, I found glass on the balcony, clearly from cleaning the decks above. Every day was busy, and most nights, I dined, and went to sleep. We dined in the Specialty restaurant Cagney's one evening. The food was very good, the ...

Our first cruise. We were not sure what to expect, but was 100% spoilt. The itinerary was excellent. We did 5 ports on our own and 5 boat excursions. It is definitely the best option and worth the extra if at all. Tour guides are very well informed and very professional. organisation on and of the ship is brilliant. Our stateroom was on the 6th floor. Cleaned twice a day. Well equipped. Bath ...

Great Cruise; Had It All

Like others, I rely on reviews so I hope this helps (I apologize for it's length). I chose this line and ship solely because of the itinerary - 10 cities, 5 countries, 12 nights. This was only our third cruise (second with NCL) so we don’t have much to compare with but our experience so far is that basically all ships are similar and it's what you make of it that matters. Anyone who rates this ...

My friend and I decided to take this cruise as it hit all the sights we wanted to see (and then some) and fit into our budget. The cruise did not disappoint. We booked a balcony room and were lucky enough to get the drink and upgraded food packages for free. I am so glad we did, especially the food package. I had never eaten at one of the specialty restaurants. With so many nights on board, ...
