Embarkation was excellent, we arrived at 12 and there was no waiting. We went straight to the Windjammer which was very good especially as it was the first day. Our cabin was ready at 3pm. The ship had apparently been in dock for some sort of upgrade, all I can say is that our cabin and other areas around the ship were looking old. I was very disappointed to see thick dust on the drawer rims ...
I decided to plan the trip independantly so arranged our flights directly and stayed in the port overnight on the 12th May.
After readiing numerous reviews I selected the Hotel Alibrandi Palace in Civitavecchia.
Great choice as the B&B stayed open until 23:00 to let us in, and we had a great welcome. The B&B was hard to find however for anyone staying there it is just a large wooden door ...
Civitavecchia, Italy – We stayed on from the previous cruise. During the turnaround day we took a tour to Tuscania. It was supposed to be an old town and olive oil plantation tour. We travelled by bus to the town and our guide took us into town, dropped us, and disappeared. We had coffee and croissants and wandered a bit. Nothing spectacular. We made it to the bus and our friends we were ...
I choose this Cruise line because of past experience with them, and thought that they would be a great place to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. Wrong!@ Royal Caribbean is not the cruise line they use to be! From the time we arrived for embarkation it was just a comedy of errors. We did not have a sea pass ready for us and had to wait almost 30 minutes while they made one up, Pre-purchased ...
We booked this cruise through Costco Travel and received $285 on board credit and complimentary gratuities for our dining servers. My wife, son and I stayed on the 9th floor in a Supreme Outside Balcony room. The room was not big, but comfortable and very quiet. There were no ship businesses above nor below us.
We flew in to Rome on May 12. We took a shuttle to the Civitavecchia Port City (125 ...
We arrived early in Rome & stayed at Crowne Royal hotel. This hotel is used by Royal Caribbean but we booked this on our own. It is a very nice hotel. However, there are no reastaurants or cafes in the area. So you can eat at the hotel or the one restaurant next door (but not breakfast). They do provide shuttle service to various parts of Rome.
We had an easy, fast embarkation around 1pm and ...
Flights all arranged by R.C.I. - all went smoothly as usual. R.C.I. representatives were easily visible at Rome airport, escorted us to a Coach with our luggage for the journey to the Port. Check-in at the Port was first class and we were soon in our Junior Suite, then straight up to the Windjammer for lunch.
This was a good introduction to a firstclass dining experience with lots of ...
I am celebrating my 60th birthday this year, 2016, and the cruise was the first leg of a trip around the world. The cruise added great value to my trip and sharing the interior room with a buddy, made it even more affordable.
We had a great time while at sea, for 8 days, and at all the ports. Gibraltar was probably the favorite as it had numerous English pubs.
I was disappointed in the ...
Inexpensive 15 day cruise, good ports. The entertainment and crew were top notch. The embarkation and disembarkation went smooth. Beautiful weather the entire trip. The activities director Dennis is one of the best and kept everything running smooth the entire cruise. He was always available. They served lobster tails twice in Windjammer which I have never seen before. Windjammer food, rocked. ...
An enjoyable TA. RCL can improve in a few areas: . . . . . hot tubs near to be HOT, . . . . menu items need to be accurately labeled (for example, tiger shrimp are not 2 inches long and Kailua drenched cake needs to have Kailua, etc. ), . . . . . Windjammer needs some renovation (age is showing), no food after 11pm.
Overall a good voyage: . . . . . great ports, . . . . pleasant staff and ...
