We chose this cruise purely for the itinerary, which is different from most of the cruises in this area. Firstly, before booking, we had consulted the reviews, and knew roughly what to expect.
I get fed up with listening to some of the professional whingers who seem to revel in complaining about some detail or other. READ THE REVIEWS FIRST BEFORE BOOKING, then you won't be disappointed. ...
1. We sailed on Oceania Insignia last January, Miami to Cape Town. We did this because of the itinerary. While onboard we found this 2017 cruise and bought for the same reason. We will probably not sail with Oceania again.
2. The staff are wonderful. Our stewardess, Sladjana was great and our cabin was maintained beautifully early every day. Most days our cabin was cleaned by the time we got ...
This was a destination specific cruise.
Lecturer Mike Boll was fabulous giving histories of the countries visited.
All nationalities were onboard which was a great mix. Entertainment was average & the so called "pool deck party" was a real disappointment - lacked food, poor music selection & no ambience or time given in setup.
NCL takeover of Oceania is evident...cost ...
Chose the ship for the Itinerary and a promise for a luxurious onboard ambiance and enriching destination experience. Nautica did not live up to their promise. For example, while in South Africa (5 ports) it would have been nice to offer a South African wine tasting; offer as a special on the Grand Dining Room menu some African dishes and meats; play a South African movie such as Invictus, Shaka ...
We recently returned from a 15 day round trip cruise from Cape Town, SA. The food was outstanding - the best we have ever had on 14 cruises (all on other lines). The service was mostly good, but there were a few instances of surly attitudes among the staff. I also liked not having to pay for dining in specialty restaurants, free water and soft drinks, no formal nights and no one taking your ...
We chose the Oceana Nautica because of the itenery we had never been to South Africa and it was on our bucket list,The fact it was going over Christmas and New Year and because of its claim to being the best ,best, best. We love good food the Nautica deffinitely told us that we would find it on board. The Cruise was expensive but we always say you get what you pay for unfortunately the Nautica ...
Second cruise with Oceania. First on Nautice. Chose the cruise because of itinerary which was great. We knew the smaller ship as we had been on Azamara. Oceania was better experience. Both embarkation and disembarking were trouble free.
Negatives was there were little alternate activities during sea days but it gave you time to recover! , and late 9.30 show...but cruise for me is not for ...
Oceania always provide good services, food and entertainment. The only disappointments were the cancellation of Istanbul and Cairo within the lists of Port of Call. Those cities were the reasons for the initial booking of this cruise. Some travelers mentioned receiving shipboard credit after complaining to Oceania (which would need confirmation). If that was true and correct, Oceania should ...
Small Ship,
No children, photographers, or up-selling,
Great Food
Great Service and Staff
Great cabaret-style entertainment
Great Itinerary
What's not to love?
The cruise was Oceania quality all the way. Food, service, staff, programs all were as good as we expected and worth the money.
Our original idea that a cruise was the best way to see this part of the world was ...
I chose this cruise line due its reputation for providing the finest cuisine at sea, and its reputed service provided by the high crew to staff ratio. We sailed from Piraeus Greece to Dubai on a 20 day cruise and were really looking forward to our concierge balcony stateroom which was our first disappointment.
The cabin furniture had seen better days and was covered in a dark varnish which ...
