Cruise Period Feb 3 - Feb 10, 2024
Embarked on Sat Afternoon Feb 3.
At 5pm the Ship's Cruise Director (AKA A LO HA ANNE) announced the Ship would remain in Honolulu overnight because of a part needed for repair. In realty the seas were ugly with 15' - 20' seas. The decision to stay in port was correct. But, WHY hide behind the Maintenance excuse?
Then decision was made to ...
We were very disappointed in serveral areas while on the ship.
1. The entertainment in the Hollywood theartre, with the exception of the magician and the Hawaiian opening, was not good. The comedian was very disappointing and vulgar.
2. The chairs in the Hollywood theatre were worn out and very uncomfortable. You slid off them as you were watching the performance.
3. Cost of ...
The nice thing about Pride is you see three islands - it is a floating hotel.
The bad news is the food was terrible, the staff mediocre. We had some specialty dining in Cagneys and Moderno. Those were both good, but the food on the buffet was terrible. The night they had prime three of four in our party ordered it and not one person could eat it. I've had beef jerk more tender. ...
We have been on this very same cruise in the past. This time the food was awful, employees were mostly sullen, and often just plain rude.
Food was always cold, either over or under cooked, and had very little taste. The buffet and Skyline restaurant food was a disaster. East meets west had great flavor, but was served cold and with an attitude. In the buffet dining area, it appeared to be the ...
This cruise did not and does not sail past the Na'Pali coast. NCL does not make this widely known and most of their agents will tell you it still does. You are in port in Kauai until 5:30 pm. This was the only major disappointment, except for the NCL app, which was useless. I don't recommend even trying to use this, as you will most likely incur extra internet charges unless you are an IT ...
This was my 5th+ time cruising with NCL and this trip was for my honeymoon. In general, I enjoyed the trip, the ports & excursions were excellent. The onboard activities were just alright, the cruise director seemed nice but would make odd/ cringey comments, during the game shows it was often awkward for the guests on stage. I was also upset to see that most if not all of the exercise classes ...
Everything went well from check in to cruising and ports except there was a day in one of the restaurants where the service was very slow. Entertainment was fun for the ones we attended (comedy show and singer). The ship was nice and clean and the bar service was very good. Staff was friendly and service overall was very good. Getting on/off the ship was easy in ports and everything was very ...
We chose Pride of America to have the option to see all the islands in Hawaii and not just one during vacation. Overall, I would rate the cruise as average. There were tons of updates needed aboard the ship, such as the pool and deck area. Most things were rusted out and not a good site. I have cruised on other ships with celebrity and royal and those ships seemed updated and refreshing. What I ...
Experienced cruisers. My wife wanted to LOVE this cruise. It’s Hawai’i. It’s Norwegian. She has experienced both and enjoyed. I personally have only experienced Celebrity, RC, and Princess. I’ve been on 7 or 8 cruises. Been to Hawai’i once before.
Hawai’i is fine. Second time here. Pretty. But I’m a value guy, and so I’ll NEVER love Hawai’i. But it’s neat for sure. Would I come back? No - a lot ...
So I thought I would share b/c I was quite stresses prior to the cruise based on older pre-pandemic reviews and feedback. Ultimately, we chose this b/c our family was visiting Hawaii for the first time and had no knowledge of what to do and where to go. It was a great choice as we were able to see the major stops and decide where we want to return to. We booked an extra day before and after to ...
