The main reason for selecting Freedom of the Seas was our very good friends who live near the port of embarkation had booked this cruise. We decided to join them, normally this is a ship and cruise we would normally would not have considered due to its size (4500 passengers) and itinerary. We have been on many smaller RCC ups and the embarkation and debarkation was painfull but I must say all ...
We had a Jr. Suite on level 10, rear, port side. Just fabulas. A real walk in closet! Room was large and we actually liked it better than the Grand Suite we had on this ship in May 2016.
Great ship this was our 3rd time to sal FOS. The food was great. We only did the MDR twice as it seemed to upset them that we don't eat a lot at evening meal. Just our life style. So we stuck to other venues. ...
This was our 8th cruise on Royal and the first on the Freedom. It's big but there are enough venues available that it did not seem as crowded as some of the smaller ships. The rooms were well maintained and very clean. Our cabin attendent Joy was very good. Our balcony was the largest we have had. Overall the service was good and the crew was friendly and knowledgable. Bar service on the pool deck ...
Our overall experience was excellent. Our cabin (8632) was in a very convenient location. It was a great size with a small couch and a good-sized balcony that was very private. The ship was easy to get around and had so many amenities. We found the entertainment to be outstanding and enjoyed the shows.
We ate most meals in the dining room, as the buffet was always so crowded it was ...
We chose this cruise for the ship and the embarkation port. Freedom is an elegant ship, the largest in the world for a while. The ship has a standard layout - Theater and lounges forward, Casino in the middle and a 3 story dining room that has to be seen to be believed aft. We did a back to back (our first) and that is the way to go if you can swing it. We had a flawless embarkation (less than 10 ...
Living in Florida, we like the convenience of cruising out of Port Canaveral. Being a Diamond member with RC, the Freedom of the Seas is also our favorite ship. Overall, we had a good time on the cruise and great weather and smooth seas. Since we have been to all of the eastern Caribbean ports many times, we did not do any excursions on this trip.
What we really liked about the cruise:

Fourth cruise, third with RCI. First time on Freedom OTS and first time on this size ship. LOVED THIS SHIP !! Not too big and not too small. Not a problem getting around and most of the time did not seem too crowded. We are mostly casino and pool deck folks and both did not disappoint. If you expect a lot of room on the smoking side of the pool deck, forget it. But we already knew that and ...
Fantastic ship, fantastic crew, fantastic itinerary!!! What more can I say other than I love this ship? Second time in her and am so sad to see her move her home port to Fort Lauderdale!
The crew did and exceptional job all week long. Check in at Port Canaveral was quite possibly the easiest I have ever experienced. We literally walked right through security, right up to check in and ...
Redeeming RCL Visa points, we were very limited in what we could choose from. It was average.
The room 8396 was at the back of the boat. The walk was long to do anything but it was quiet. Overall room was acceptable but Jessica the steward was exceptional in all she did for us.
We asked for a 2 top seating for dining, was placed at a 9 top and told 2 tops were given to only select guests ...
I would rate this in the minus if I could.
The cruise started badly with Royal caribbean's choice of Airline BA leaving all our luggage behind in Gatwick. The efforts by both BA and RCI in getting the luggage to us could only be described as pathetically laughable both did not care a toot if we got our luggage. We had n hour in Walmart on the Sunday morning nd either bought onboard or in port. ...
